It's just the accents and the lingo which annoys me most! Too 'Snatch' for my liking..
They're cockney geezas innit, what did you think they'd talk like? A fucking muppet?

Na, I'm kidding. But I get the feeling the style of the game is a very deliberate homage to the London gangster films of the genre; Get Carter and the like. In fact I kinda wanna play it now, just cause of the uniqueness of that setting.
Like I say, a bit too 'Snatch' (Although it was a great film)

What I really think would be nice is a modern day London with characters that I can relate to on a personal level! I get the whole stylized feeling of the London cockney gangster, but It's still not something that I can relate to my own life. I think the accents would just get on my tits.. (Really awks if it turns out that your Cockney)

Honestly, i'd have to say a full blown action Rpg set in either Ancient Greece or in the late Roman Republic/early empire era that incorporates mythology would be outright fantastic. Cmon people, enough of Dark Ages Europe, give the ancient Romans or greeks a chance to shine in something that isn't an RTS.

Have you seen this?

Very aesthetically similar to Okami. Perhaps TOO similar some might say.
Holy shit, you're right!

That's uncanny. Might have to keep an eye on that one.

Anything to do with Norse, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and or Mesoamerican mythology and folklore. Seriously, who doesn't want Vikings fighting feathered dragons, giant world eating leopards, with a sphinx or two thrown in for good measure?

Aye, gameplay looks decent too. Shame it's on the Vita though. Still haven't decided if I'm gettting one of those yet.

Great events from throughout history that didn't involve the United States, Japan, or the Classical Civilizations. I've always thought a game chronicling the rise and fall of a great state, like the Ottoman Empire or Prussia, would be both compelling, and an opportunity to explore new gameplay ideas.

Think about it, you start a game alongside Mehmed II at the gates of Constantinople, sabre in hand; then flash forward to the end where you are in tense, urban combat trying to take that very city back in the post-WWI campaigns of Ataturk. Or, in a similar theme, you begin as a Teutonic Knight, escorting and protecting Christian pilgrims from Muslims, eager to retake Palestine, with the game ending after a sequence akin to Halo: Reach wherein you are a Volkssturm soldier fighting a loosing Battle for Berlin.

Wrong again! I'm from the South Coast, Dorset. How about you?
I get your point, and I agree, London IS underused. I see the chances of a London based game like you are talking about to be slim though- it's just not very marketable around the world, I expect. But what do I know, I'm a pessimist :p

What settings do you think should be used in games more?

I think We need more WW1 games, although not neccisarly a FPS , A silent hill kinda horror game could be good in the trenches and no mans land, I mean that place is freaky as shit!
I haven't seen an WW1 horror games myself, but for the setting might I recommend Iron Brigade?

It's a tower defense game by Double Fine, set in alternate history WW1 where you pilot a big mech called a Mobile Trench against the enemy. I enjoy it, as it's got an interesting design and great aesthetics, though the difficulty can get a little wonky at times.

OT: Space Western. Something along the lines of Firefly with a dash of Red Dead Redemption, where you are a simple individual with your own ship and a huge open universe to explore. I have seen way to few of these being made, and those that do exist are either hard to get or old enough to be incompatible for most platforms.

Would love to see more games in the Knights Templar era or a game based in the Communist uprising in Russia. Both be open world. The first would be pretty fun I guess.

Where's the fantasy games set in an urban setting?
YES! I had forgotten about that. I really want more of them. Why don't we have more? We need more.
Could you name a few? I can't for the life of me create an imagine or an example :|.

Say Neverwinter Nights (can;t remember, but I think it was 2) where you start off in a city. (Only played for an hour or something :p)
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

God I wish there were more games like that...

I'm looking for something like this actually...

Could be a rather interesting battleground if you think about it.

Steampunk! This son of a ***** loves steampunk games! Extra points if it's WWI-era.

Prison setting for a Wii game. Imagine it. Using the Wiimote as a shiv, having the Wiimote vibrate like something that vibrates a lot to emulate the difficult involved in not the soap, having to hide the Wiimote in your anus to stop guards from finding contraband.. There should be more games in a prison setting.
God I should not have laughed that hard.

I think that a FPS about the Winter War would be awesome. Make it like Red Orchestra and I would buy one million copies.

I think mouse sensitivity needs to be more standardized, have to spend so much time messing with that setting for every game.

Oh, not the kind of setting you meant?

OT: I would love to see a kind of frontier space pioneering setting in a game, not like a typical 4x where everyone expands outward from their own planet but something where everyone starts at the same point and goes outward competing for resources.

Prehistoric times. Not nearly enough games set back then. I get all nostalgic for when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Few people will remember, we had games such as velociraptor baiting and mammoth hunting to keep us occupied. Those were the days!

Seriously though, the best I've seen is the 65 BC world in Chrono Trigger. And that setting deserves so much more attention.

It's the same with far future settings (other than Warhammer 40k). Maybe something much closer to the end of the universe or at least the Sun. A world so far into the future that very few recognisable traces of humanity remain.

This; Why can't we battle dragons in Miami using modern firearms?! Because Dragons are magical...but then this is easily remedied by enchanting the gun itself or, the bullet clips! "Because it's fucking magic, that's why" is still a valid excuse to put Dragons in modern day Baltimore.

Or failing that: Cyberpunk fantasty in a not-too-distant future. Cloned or, robotic dragons (or both) ravaging the megalopolis of Neo-Atlanta. I'd love to see more games setting say "prepare for high tech shit" like Deus Ex but then blindside you with "Have some magical murder-tools! They're not high-tech, they're MAGIC"
