I'm going to rank these games as if there were a gaming hall of fame. I don't personally like all of these games, but I recognize their relevance. There are plenty of games that I will look back at as my all time favorites that aren't listed here, because I understand they aren't relevant/critically praised enough.

First Ballad Hall of Famers

The Mass Effect series
The BioShock series
Grand Theft Auto 4 & 5
The Last of Us ( It might be too early to call)
Skyrim
Call of duty 4 ( I'm tempted to include every call of duty game released in the last generation, just because of the insane sales numbers.)
Halo 3
Second and third ballad

The Gears of War series
Minecraft
The Uncharted series
Red Dead Redemption
The Batman Arkham series
Portal 1&2
The Assassins Creed series
Fallout 3
Saints Row series
On the bubble

Far Cry 3
Spec Ops The Line
Limbo
Metro games
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead
Demon's Souls

Hrmmm, good question.

Red dead redemption has got to be top of my list...i actually paid for xbox live so i could play it for a while.

Trials HD is a game i will always happily go back and play some more...frustrating and addictive in perfect harmony. That will change if the leaderboards ever disappear.

Dead rising was worth me buying the console for although it's damn annoying in some ways.

Fallout 3 is the game i've probably put the most time into, and over a 4 year period, so chances are i'll go back and play it again in the future.

I'm really struggling to think up some pc games but while i've enjoyed playing a few games i generally end up having problems keeping them running long enough to maintain anything but apathy afterwards. Whoever said S.T.A.L.K.E.R wants their head examining...i finished it yesterday and i'm particularly scathing of it. I managed to break 4 quest lines so that they wouldn't leave my list but had been completed. The inventory system is shit and the weapons all feel like pea-shooters. The areas are all just shades of green and grey and hemmed in by barbed wire fences that cannot be crossed. The story is a mess aswell *sigh* Sorry, there isn't much of a story. Good atmosphere though 3/10 :p
