Thing I am most disgusted to see in Media now days is the fact that women are always shown to be weak sex-crazed whore.

What's weak about being a sex-crazed whore? Sex-crazed whores are routinely some of the most powerful women I've ever met.

Never said anything is wrong with being like that. I just hate when women a descripted in media like that. Specially since all the women around me aren't like that. I think this discussion will drop down to the valley of cultural relativism.

But this is my personal standing on this subject and I know I can not change world.

It saddens me to look people around me and see them acting like primitive beasts. But maybe someday we will evolve bit more and realize when we look back how stupid we really were.

Better that we be corrupted and controlled in a civilized, eloquent manner, no? Being a prude doesn't make you more evolved. Get over yourself.

I am deeply sorry if my personal opinion and world view (which I am entitled to have) offends yours.
I have my own personal standards what I would like the world to be. Even tho I can not paint the clouds to my liking I can always dream and talk about how I would them to look like.

You basically evaded the point, which is that you are equating being sex-crazed with weakness, whereas a lot of people I know (both male and female) would see that overt sexuality in either gender = strength. It's always wrong to simply assume that because a woman is portrayed in a sexual position that she is a victim or being cruelly exploited. This is the case in some instances, but in many others a lot of women (and men) work very hard and make every effort to get into those positions of their own free will! I know this because I go out with a woman who does exactly this, takes it very seriously, and is certainly not on the losing end of any kind of power equation. In her photo shoots she has ALL the power, she decides everything and the photographers have to obey or GTFO.

I don't really care about sexual advertising. And to be honest, I don't think that many people do. I don't get why you're being so upset about it. The girls aren't being humiliated, they sign up for it with their own free will.

Its a biological imperative to react to sexual cues. So it makes sense that people who want you to notice use sex to make you notice

Well its actually a pretty common tactic used by both the news and advertisement. It's called framing. The media can't effectively tell people what to think, but they're very effective at telling/convincing people what to think ABOUT. And since, as many people have already posted, sex sells because it's a hardwired physiological need, it's a very cost-effective way to sell things.

It also doesn't hurt the advertiser's case that a lot of people subconsciously associate the thing that is being sold with sex, and then assume "if I buy this thingamajig, then that hot girl from the commercial will want me!"

It's kinda underhanded, but it's been proven to work

Ya sex has quite an affect on us, and as long as it works they will be selling it, and this is the only place where you can be glad all the sex controversy is still in effect, otherwise you would have full hardcore porn in commercials non-stop.

And when men get a sex reference into their head they quickly forget all else, not making it up there is a study on that.
So not only does it peek your interest but you will have no recollection of the product info other then the sex reference, which is quite a bad basis for buying stuff.
It doesn't seem like women are much far from that, because 90% of the girls I talked to who watched The Matrix only know there was Keanu Reeves shown alot. Which incidentally explains the whole Twilight craze, they just see some sparkly emo dudes and it's all good.

Still have you looking, doesn't it? That you look and don't like what you see is infinitely better than no attention at all, and there are undoubtedly quite a few whom it will even appeal to. Get a product equated to sex - one of the most powerful motivators in existence - and it's sure to sell.

Of course, the more sex the makers of a product unrelated to sex feels they have to use to market it, the greater the warning that it's there to cover for something...

While yes, sex is used to help capture attention as has been said several times in this thread, it's also used to help persuade you that YOU NEED THIS PRODUCT! Take the Axe Deodorant commercials. They aren't just some "hot" women standing next to the deodorant, they're filled with guys using the deodorant then being swarmed by lustful women who want no more than to have hair[/I] sex with him. The unconscious message they are sending the viewers is that "If you use this product, women will be very much attracted to you." Now practically all commercials due this, so it's nothing new, just this time its targeting the parts of our brains focused on sex.

I think everyone should try achieving a pure and clean vision of the world around them. And people who don't even try to, I do not respect.

Short answer to the original question: Advertising that is invasive and insults my mind, makes me avoid the advertising and despise the product. Frontal sex-sells advertizing is among those cases.

In general, pretty much everything that marketers tend to like to do, is stuff that works counterproductive when applied to me.

You're allowed to conduct your life in any way you wish. However what you should not do is generalise and make assumptions about the lives of others.

I'm not expecting you to approve of overt sexuality in advertising. I'm just saying that you shouldn't assume anything about the real lives and motivations of the people portrayed in those advertisements, because your assumptions are probably wrong in many cases.

For the record its not me trying to claim a moral highground or anything like that. Im just tired of the same old place pretty lady next to product and get it to sell strategy because it's just gotten repetitive for me. I want to see advertisements that have a bit more thought in them. I can see why some people are saying this is PC but believe me I am not a PC person, my idea of solving overcrowded prisons is to drop them on a small island with bits of sharp metal and let them kill each other.

It makes me LESS LIKELY to spend money, because I get insulted when women try to use their sexuality to get money from me, whether they are selling something or trying to get a bigger tip.

This is why I don't like going to Hooters and similar places. The majority of the waitresses would not talk to me if they didn't want something. If I want to see hot girls parade around in tight clothes, I'll go to a strip club where my big tip at least gets a lap dance in return

I never mentioned anything about the lives of those models who give their bodies to be used as a bait for selling a car. The truth they are portrayed to be sex-crazed-whores, doesn't mean they are... Did I say that everyone who is portrayed to be something like that, is like that. Or everyone is general is like that?

I am not saying it is wrong to person answer the need of the market. I just find it questionable to women using sex as a tool against men to achieve her will. I am not saying everyone does. I know this dear friend of mine, Annie (name changed because I can't ask her permission to reveal her name). She has decided to achieve something great without using her physical appearance (sex appeal) as tool in any point. She dresses kinda like me, simple cloths, black shirt, pants and long black jacket... She is not the smartest, she considered to be beautiful by the standards of modern media. She doesn't want to use sex appeal as a tool. I respect that greatly (Due to personal reasons).

Want it to go away? Well, first off, too bad because it isn't going anywhere. Sex does sell and it gets people's attention; both good and bad and that's exactly what advertisers are wanting to do. Get attention for their product.

The best thing to do in this case would be to simply stop paying attention to it. Sure, it can piss you off but really, there's nothing to be done about it. Sex sells. That's obviously true for most people as people like sex. If you don't, then don't go whining about it, just don't pay attention to it.
