Sex is a means of reproduction, a recreational sport, and, to many, a basic need.

To me personally, it is only a means of reproduction and because I don't want to reproduce, or even possess working genitalia, it is something that I simply do not do. Other people can do it as much as they want, basically, as long as they leave me out of it or don't mind me being an intrusive asshole when they do it in a place where it inconveniences me. Like, if they were to have it noisily in the next room when I try to get some sleep.

In general, I think our culture is too obsessed with sex for its people's own good. No person should be considered strange or sick because they don't consider it a high priority, yet that's what seems to be happening a lot of the time. I think sex belongs to everyone who can show consent, mind you -- cases of inequality deserve exposure as long as they're an issue.

Sex is a mechanical connection between 2 people. When both parties are feeling lust they decide to indulge in each other and satisfy each others needs. Making Love is when the 2 involved are emotionally involved more then they are physically and are passionate about each other.

Sex is a fun and necessary activity for many healthy couples. I never thought I had to wait for marriage to have sex, and I'm glad I didn't. Sex brings you and your partner closer and it feels damn good.

I learned and developed most of my beliefs about sex from my friends and peers at school. You'll learn more about sex by walking down a middle/high school hallway then you will in health class.

I was never taught my beliefs, I just grew up with them as an individual. I have never had a one night stand, threesomes or group sex in general holds no appeal with me and I'm too loyal a person to cheat. It means more to me than just a night of fun.

My beliefs about sex: as long as it's consentual you have no right to stop it from happening. Some people would disagree, and those people need to get laid.

So a twelve year old and a twenty five year old are A-okay in your book?

OK, guess I should have phrased that a little better. As long as it's consentual and with someone who's at least in their late teens, it's alright to have sex.

Or one could reason that a minor is not capable of giving informed consent. Children are vulnerable, have untested judgement, and still have a ways to go in terms of cognitive development. Law in most western countries recognizes this - that's why a child doesn't retain certain criminal records in adult life.

Children can't legally sign to any contract for these reasons. They can't sign up for grocery store credit cards. (On their own.) A contract is an agreement, and sexual consent is an unspoken agreement of greater importance than a grocery store credit card.

I'm not exactly what most purists would call a moral man - I would be the first to admit I am possibly a tad too promiscuous.
But that's not because I'm some sort of screwed up pervert, Quagmire-style. It's simply because I've never been very good at committed relationships, and have decided to stay as far away from them as I can to avoid hurting someone really badly. (Trust me - it has happened. And it wasn't pleasant. We literally said the two things simultaneously;

HER:"I think I love you!".
ME: "I think we should break up..."

There is nothing wrong with "putting it out there" in my oppinion. As long as the other party is fully aware of your intentions. I believe it is a recreational activity as much as something else.
While I can see people problems with this attitude, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I just follow the rules of being careful, making sure the girl knows what she's letting hersef in for, stay clean, and stay as far away from dedicated relationships as possible.

Nobody gets hurt, we all have some fun and if you're any good she'll bring a friend next time...

I shouldn't have to point this out but in this day and age it's unfortunately necessary to state that the following is my personal opinion.

A combination of a Christian and yet also secular upbringing has brought me to the conclusion that the "no premarital sex" rule was intended as a way of protecting the more primitive societies (back in the old Biblical days anyway) from things like STIs, etc.

However, God doesn't have to tell me not to have pre-marital sex because I'm simply not interested in it right now. I mean, I would personally rather just wait for the right person to come along instead of throwing my virginity away to some slut I bring home from the club or whatever. I've had my chances to lose it but I chose not to in the end.

That being said, if others have premarital sex or are promiscuous then I have no issues with it (as I shouldn't in the first place), but I will have a problem with them boasting openly about it. Also, how you go about being promiscuous is important as well. There's a difference between taking a willing (and at least somewhat sober) girl home from the club and knocking her out with a roofie first. Also, if you try to get my partner to cheat on me knowing full well that she's already taken, there's something wrong with you.

I also don't appreciate others trying to convince me that my "I will not have sex yet" stance is wrong and I should come out and "get laid". Piss off.

Basically it boils down to: To Each His Own.

However, it's also something everyone should enjoy (legitimately, not through illegal or immoral means) at least once before they die.

Not really, sexual desire varies among individuals, some people absolutely need it to live happy and healthy lives, some may do it occasionally for pleasure's sake, and there are some like myself, where it has little to no significance whatsoever.

Also, unlike viruses, we have the capability to change and alter our actions, thus influencing the consequences. Not every individual is a slave to consumption either

Sex is whatever you put into in. If you want it to mean something, it will. If not, then well, it won´t. But there are always consequences. Not always life-changing, but they are always there. You just won´t know it until it´s over.

Anyway after my parents discovered that I wasn't sexually ignorant they threw me on some internet site which I HAD to read for two hours straight as a punishment. Teenage health or something. Mainly just loads of guys complaining about their penis size.

I remember my little brother had asked about sex. He´s 4 and a half years younger than me, about 10 or something at the time. So my mom asked if she could borrow my biology text-book and started reading...
I remember coming in after an hour or so, and the look of sheer horror on my brothers face has stayed with me ever since. Mom was reading about the female cycle...

I´ve often though about what dad told me, and I think that he understood that sex is learned from personal experience so he just shared the "bare necessities". I´m grateful to the old man for that.
