Well the other day I found a rather pleasant surprise. Hairbrained schemes released a standalone version of their DLC Dragonfall for the game Shadowrun Returns. It's also an updated re-release with new weapons, endings, music, missions, interface and a lot of other goodies. And if you already bought the original Dragonfall DLC, you should find that the Director's Cut has already appeared in your Steam/GoG library. They gave it away for free to those customers, something that you sadly don't see very much in the modern day of gaming. I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it and already have it installed on my computer. Dead Man's Switch was an decent experience with some flaws, and Dragonfall improved on a lot of those flaws while keeping the strong points. These are developers that have proven that they care what the consumer thinks, and I firmly believe that the Director's Cut will improve and already great experience.

So thoughts? Have you tried out the Director's Cut yet? What do you think about it and this move by Hairbrained?

Haven't tried it myself yet (I haven't finished the base campaign yet), but I like the fact that they gave it to people who already owned the expansion. A developer who regularly follows up on their game after its release and does things for the benefit of the consumer is a developer who gets all of my respect. And a developer who has my respect is a developer I'm going to be following in the future. :p

I mean, it helps that I'm one of the people who wasn't disappointed by the final product of Shadowrun Returns in the first place, but yeah, they seem like a cool group of people and I'm interested in seeing where they go next.

dragonfall .. my favourite rpg of the last few years is back and better than before. i havent gotten far myself yet with it but im loving it so far and the things like UI alterations improve things alot.

alot of people didnt like the initial campaign but dragonfall is such an improvement over the initial game
