That song was fucking awesome. It's like HHC on an Egyptian scale.
I haven't played the original Shantae or even heard of it! Where can I purchase it please?

How much you want to bet Sarkeesian will ignore this except to whine about the character design instead of using it to promote the anti trope.

You can download both the original and the sequel if you have a 3DS.

Calm down Jerry.

You sound like George.

Anyway- the game seems a little too simple to me. Jump, whip things with hair, die to pitfall, repeat.

Congratulations! You win the "Completely fucking useless post" award, for your brave attempt to create yet another fucking argument about an unrelated occurrence in a situation when no such discussion is needed!

Here's your trophy:

You can keep it for yourself. Your useless post to point out my useless is far more useless. Therefor your useless post trumps mine for the award.

ANYWAY, I remember this being a series before Kickstarter. I don't pay much attention to Kickstarter altogether, have people been using it regularly to try to reboot franchises?

I can't say I ever had any interest in the series and have no money to throw to a kickstarter, but I still wish them luck in getting their funds.

Well looks like I've found something to keep my eye on. I love Wayforward because their platforming games are amazing. I loved A Boy and His Blob to death and I've played Ducktales Remastered and loved it.
Gonna wait to back, but this might be the third project I ever back. ^.^

Wayforward tends to be the ones who remake games and make them pretty interesting. Their remake of A Boy and His Blob was great, even had a hug button :3, and Ducktales Remastered was great with how they actually got most of the original voice actors to do the characters. Well except for Fintheart Glomgold and Fenton because their voice actors sorta died of old age, but they managed to get Allen Young to do Scrooge. ^.^

How in the world is there a game with a hug button that I don't own?

And I might have to check their games out. I still need to get a lot more money before I'd feel comfortable throwing any funds towards a kickstarter though.

I recommend A Boy and His Blob if you love puzzles and hug buttons. Thing is, it's an exclusive for the Wii so I don't know if you have one. If not then try out their latest game, Ducktales Remastered, because it is a lot of fun especially if you like platformers.

Here's some music samples:

Huh, so this is apparently a thing that is happening now. Well they did a great remake on Ducktales and Boy and his blob, Mighty Switch Force was also an entertaining little puzzle 3DS game so these guys have experience making pretty good platformer and puzzle gameplay.

I remember playing the first two games awhile ago, and unless there was a game I missed along the way I'm pretty sure the second game ended with her losing her genie powers, becoming human, and coping with that in the final boss fight, so I'm wondering if they just retconned that or what. Still, this was always just kind of a slightly above average handheld platformer game, so WayForward has the chance to turn it into something noteworthy, if that's what the final product looks like anyway, then color me hopeful.

And the trophy ownership rebounds... and rebounds... and... please just make up and embrace. Or do what Necromancer suggested and kiss! :D

OT: Cool. I bet this could make it over half way through its stretch goals.

Well shit.

I've never heard of this franchise before, but as a feminist it is up to me to support games with female protagonists.

Pledged.

Also, it looks really neat and 15 bucks isn't all that much to invest on "female protagonist who belly-dances" - which is an amazing concept and I heartily approve. Belly-dancing is fucking awesome.

Edit: I likely hadn't heard of it before because I tune out anything with the words 3DS - not owning one or likely to own one as even the good 3D gives me headaches.

never heard of this before, but I do like me some 2D platformers.

I wonder if I can afford to back mighty 9 and this.

I'm surprised no one has heard of the series before.

I'm even more surprised that they have this kickstarter for game 4 now, since the THIRD GAME isn't even out yet. Considering how 2 ended, and the title for #4 I'm guessing we can divine what happens in Pirate's Curse.

It would be nice if they bothered to change some things up more. In the first game they had different attack combos and 3 transformations. It was also really hard, and quite long. Giggidy.

Risky's Revenge was WAY shorter, WAY easier, and removed all the combos in favor of OP magic spells that were exactly the same as the attack items in the previous one that had finite uses.

Pirate's Curse at least seemed like it would need to be different given the curse and all, but with the new kickstarter we seem to be right back at the same monkey transformation as in the first 2 games.

Yes it is cute, but how about a kitty? And instead of an elephant again, maybe a hippo. They would do the same things but at least you'd have that thin veneer of originality that was largely missing from the 2nd game.

Why are you surprised? The original game was released on the GameBoy Colour a year after the GameBoy Advance came out and it's sequel was a DSiWare only game so it's not like it's a high profile series

Hopefully this will be successful.Wayforward have made some quality games
