Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is the longest word in the English dictionary, it's a lung disease caused by the inhalation of fine silica dust (like from volcanoes, makes sense as 'volcano' is part of the condition).
When i looked at that i didnt even try to read the word... i kinda just skipped to "longest word in english dictionary"....

OT: A goldfish is the only animal that can see ultra violet and infra red lighting.
Also wasn't the longest word some place in NZ? A mountain or hill or something.

It's called 'apartheid'. And it is well known because of South-Africa.

The phrase "Let it snow" will also have some interesting effect.

Napoleon wasn't really small, only in relative terms (people at the time were smaller than today). Also, his personal guard was handpicked among the largest men in the army, so he usually looked smaller when being escorted by them.

dutch grammar dictates it to be spelled with two "p"s because of the short "a" sound, besides, can you guess who was boss around there when the associated, racist laws were implemented?

that was us, the dutch. :(

That medieval people thought the earth was flat is wrong. It's an urban legend spread by the darwinists, who were in a quarrel with the church on the subject of evolution. To make the church look dumb, they made everyone think the church thought the world was flat too. But that the earth is spherical has already been a widely accepted fact (by scholars) for millennia.

What is true is that the church at that time defended the position that the earth was the center of the universe. Because these 2 are pretty similar and easily grouped together, it's one of the most effective urban legends in history.

The Monty Hall Paradox - Suppose you're given the choice of three doors: Behind one door is a car; behind the others, goats. You pick a door, say No. 1 [but the door is not opened], and the host, who knows what's behind the doors, opens another door, say No. 3, which has a goat. He then says to you, "Do you want to pick door No. 2?" Is it to your advantage to switch your choice?

You are actually twice as likely to win if you switch.

Technically, it's the other way around.

However, this is somewhat paradoxial. White light, coming from the sun is every color, when the light hits a "black" material it seems to be black because every wavelength of the light is absorbed. A white material reflects all wavelengths, therefore the material looks white.
