a fair few of us march on through the forums without even bothering to think of the others that we share them with. I say that we should share the love, become a friend to someone, send them a nice message, GIVE THEM A NICKNAME.
just do something nice for the anonymous.

I'm always nice, don't know about nicknames but I would never flame. It's just in my natural here and in life.

I have only added two people as friends here. I never talk to them because I have no reason to. I merely added them to express I enjoy reading their posts. Only one of them added me back.

Well, 4chan in some form did assemble IRL for Project Chanology. And since I hang out with them on a regular basis, I'd say they're actually very easy to be nice to!

And at least here we have avatars. And user profiles.

I shall take your advice, OP, and next time I want to initiate a conversation with someone, I'll try not to feel creepy, and instead go ahead and send them a message. But yeah, I'm always up for a chat and have exchanged some pleasant messages with people on my friends list. A foolproof question to ask me is 'Do you have a lunchbox?'
