Hands down, this. Probably my favourite Queen song ever.

Hell, the whole Night at the Opera album is just fucking amazing and you all need to acquire it immediately if you somehow already haven't... SERIOUSLY STOP READING AND GO BUY IT

you should listen to some cold war kids, specifically "tell me in the morning" "hair down" "hospital bed" and most importantly "saint john"

Just about anything by Devildriver. If you're looking for something more brutal, go with Sympathy's album, Anagogic Tyranny or maybe some Cannibal Corpse (Priests of Sodom is epic!)

Well. Awesome. I love music that makes you feel like your chest will explode from the sheer power behind it. Some of the posts in this thread seem to interpret intense and powerful as "music I really like", which often doesn't actually fit well with those adjectives. So the below are not my favorite songs--though they're all really really good--but are certainly the most intense and powerful I can think of.

Let's see, as usual, it's hard to pick just one...
Listen to them all with the volume all the way up, and use a subwoofer if you have one! Shake your whole goddamn house!
Oh, and really anything by Hans Zimmer--Basically the entire soundtracks of Pirates of the Carribean, The Last Samurai, and Inception are fucking amazing.

I've got 3 for you
About the warsaw uprising
These two you need to listen to one after the other
John Lennon's Imagine
and A Perfect Circle's cover

The Lennon version just screams "We could save the world!"
The Perfect Circle version silently weeps "We could have saved the world"

Thieves. Thieves and liars. Hypocrites and bastards...

This song gets my blood pumping.
Oh god I love this song, I'm glad somebody posted it.

OP: My choice:

Everything about this song is grand, epic and larger then life. If death doesn't come to take me in this way, I will be very disappointed.

There's some good stuff in here. Especially props to the APC version of Imagine.
But most of you seem to be confusing loud with powerful.

Those two are my favorites, the amount of awesome makes them pretty intense.

Switching to intense for real now.

Enjoy ;)
