I guess my problem is that it bugs me how people categorise between a "first world" and a "third world". In how it assumes people who live in wealthier countries aren't entitled to have their own grievances, how it assumes that people in poorer countries won't have similar grievances and how it implies that development is black and white like that.
No, first-world countries can have actual problems (being dragged to court and being sued because you spilled coffee on someone is an actually serious problem that typically only happens in first-world countries).

"First world problems" was SUPPOSED to reference people who claim their "day is ruined" because they dropped their soda or couldn't find bean sprouts in the fridge or got a Mercedes in the wrong shade of pink. It got hijacked by the internet and made into a "quit whining about things" shortcut, because that's what the internet does.

See EeveeElectro's posts for a good example of what First World Problems are supposed to be.

This is an old but good one from when I was young:
I was renting Godzilla movies and I wasn't old enough to comprehend that the original actors is usually better than the english dubs, I just wanted to hear in in english.
Godzilla 2000 had an english option.
The next one I rented (I can't remember which one it was) did not.
I threw a bit of a fit.

I have an awesome stereo that I just upgraded, but very little time to use it. I also have a stack of unplayed videogames that would be at least chest height if the Steam games were in physical boxes. Can I be 12 again? Or even 18? I miss having free time.

Increasingly sadistic boss in the past few years. I'd quit, but in today's job market chances of finding anything are slim.

I can't stop watching pretty little liars on netflix , it's so terribly addictive , and i'm a straight man . I think i felt my balls shrink a little:
Don't feel bad, I once watched the first 3 seasons of Beauty and the Geek. All in ONE sitting! I still have no clue what compelled me to do so...

OT: I have almost no time to play the sweet DMC HD collection due to my hectic schedule. Woe is me. :(

I dropped my laptop fell off a table 2 about 2-3 feet on to a tile floor. one side of the frame thing is slightly loose now and a tinny piece of unimportant plastic chipped off. other then that yeah it still works just fine.
in fact I made this comment on that same laptop.

also I have a game/anime/cartoon backlog that I should take care of. Instead I am just playing Fallout New Vegas during my free time. I spent over 750 hour in that game so far. you would think I would be tired of that game at this point but I am not.

I ordered Dark Souls and a PC gamepad on the weekend. They might not arrive this week.

Also, my internet is shit, keeps making error 101.

Also also, I am at the moment reading Childhood's End, and for some time it had a Finnish protagonist. Not anymore, though. *sniff*

My 160GB iPod broke, so now I have to use my backup MP3 player which holds less than 1GB. This is a disaster.

So far I've had no luck at finding a job. Got to hang in there though. But my true first world problem is that I have all these games but I don't know what one to play so I just end up on League of Legends anyway.

Also the crumpets in my cupboard are out of date. Won't somebody please think of the crumpets?!

When I was much younger, I grew up using dial-up for many years. The connection wasn't excruciatingly slow, but anytime someone made a call, anything I was doing was now lost.

I now have a broadband connection. Even waiting two seconds for a webpage to load up will make me rage.

You're... you're not reading my first reply to you, are you? Or are you misunderstanding it, or reading things into it I never intended to have there?

I bought Lego Pirates of the Caribbean but have to wait for it to come in the mail. Also I can't go to cigar store until tomorrow.
