Just follow the title and you'll be fine.

My idea has two versions of the same concept. It is a Creepypasta rpg. One is a game where the player creats their own character and does work for other Creepypasta characters and creatures to gain abilities from them. The other is a game like the older Final Fantasy games where the player forms a party made of creations from Creepypasta and some unofficial ones as well.

Been mulling one over in my head for a few weeks: You are an immortal (Can't die from aging, but other things can kill you) Demi-God and the patron deity of a small tribe of primitive humans. You try and grow your civilization like Black & White but you're also a character in the game and leveling up and fighting off monsters and going to war with your people against other Gods and their followers. I don't really have any mechainics thought out but the cross genre game-play got me thinking about the possibilities of a action/RPG/RTS sort of thing.

My idea is for a multi-player slasher game where one team spawns as a group of teens in the woods, they have to collect resources to make makeshift weapons and supplies.
but after a minute or so the other team of 1 to 3 players spawn as Freddy,Jason, Michael and Chucky each with different powers and abilities. Then they have to run around the forest dismembering and decapitating the other team until only one survives.
You can all-sow do 1 vs 12 matches where depending on what horror movie character you chose the map changes, like Freddys map could be the dream-world,Jason:camp crystal lake,Chucky:Toy shop and so on.

I'm doing a game in the university that I work for that researches dementia using an eyetracker.

That's not the important bit though. While working away on the eyetracker I realised I could make a Doctor Who weeping angels game that if you physically blink in real life the angels will get closer. Not done anything on it yet because I need 3D models of the weeping angels I'm having no luck finding free ones so I need to wait for my 3D Modeller friend to make me one.

I would go for a Duke Nukem revival, yes yes I know that is a tainted name now, but it does leave open an opportunity at this point to crush him into dust and build him back up again.

Make it just after DNF ended and have the government come to Duke essentially going "look you are old and the way you do things is no good", both a play on the awful previous game, his camp character and the old school shooter approach.
And then they take Dukes entire empire as compensation for the damage he did, sending him to the army as an instructor retirement job, which later turns out was a joke and he is actually thrown in with new recruits having a stern sargent whip him into modern military shape (walk horribly slow, never open a door alone, never carry more then two guns, trained color blindness, jelly face smears, hide like a wimp, never stray off the narrow linear path), giving the perfect opportunity to mock their approach in turn, also throw in a couple absurdly enthused army brats calling everything "realistic".
Have the game go through a couple of cliche "terrorist" missions with that debilitating gameplay and brats annoying the hell out of you, until aliens crash the party to liven things up, obviously we need them to make a Duke game work.
Then just have everybody slaughtered gruesomely, yes them brats being first on the list, and as the army is in dismay your sarge loosing all hope Duke gets up from his chest high wall "Alright kids we had some fun, but now let daddy do his work"... thus starting his hail mary return.
And as the metal starts pumping Duke walks slow-mo through explosions and fires completely unscaved right up to a phone booth, where he rings up ye olde Prospector to bring in the good guns, at which point the game goes back to it's roots, completely over the top alien shooter action for the rest of it.

But all that should still be just a small cheap 5 hour fling, a quick snappy parody to win back some love for the Duke.

I've always wanted an MMO version of Harvest Moon/Rune Factory/Open RPG where the players can be merchants, farmers, craftsman (wood, blacksmith, alchemy, tailoring, the whole shebang), raw material gatherers (miners, loggers, mushroom hunters, etc), innkeepers, bathhouse owners, tavernkeeps, etc. So there would have to be many towns in an open world and you'd travel from town to town if you were an adventurer selling your spoils, or settle in a town and just make a living. So you could basically do whatever you liked.

Want to run an inn? Find a town without one, or maybe find a good plot of land and found a town. (There would be careful limits on this, I expect, and a lot of in-game currency involved. To make it easier, the world could be quite open and randomly generated and every tree/rock/cave and such would be random as to be able to make the world large and open) Want to do nothing but mine? Go for it, rent a room at the inn until you can build your own house. Want to be a mercenary clearing out caves or forests so people can do their work? Go for it. Want to rob them when you're done? Sure - but you'll be marked and people will be able to freely hunt you down, too. So there could be bounty hunters as well.

The game would have to allow you to switch classes on one character, though, so if no one's around you can defend yourself while gathering if needed, or if someone tries to rob your food stall, you can whip out your sword and chase them off.

... I kinda described Sword Art Online, but it'd be less focused on grinding and more on doing whatever the hell you want in a fantasy (not sure if high magic or low would work) setting.

I've wanted a game like this for years. Except I have no coding skills. Writing and research ability and experience I've got though.

One day, the craziest videogame idea I had ever thought of popped into my head during one of those "Don't do Drugs" presentations in high school. That should give you some context. It's called "Noble". And it makes no sense at all.

Reginald Noble awakes from his chambers and strolls around the military base. He is the only one dressed casually, and the only one in the entire complex speaking informally.

When war breaks out, Reggie breaks out his three-headed chaingun and charges out against the enemy forces in a brown/gray environment, with plenty of cover, and some extra second gun (like a shotgun, or something). It all seems like your average cookie-cutter shooter for a few minutes, until the freaky monsters start showing up.

Before you know it, you're fighting elephants with machine guns, pixelated things inside a 16-Bit dimension and battling flying textbooks that breathe fire and horrible flesh-hungry food in Mr. Noble's old high school.

It plays in a very oldschool style, reminiscent of Serious Sam, Duke Nukem or Quake. You've got weapons that shoot things like chickens and fireworks. Mines come in the form of wet cats, Reginald's melee attack is a headbutt and you gain health by chasing down anthropomorphic food that screams and runs away when it sees you (mostly doughnuts with eyeballs), all like the cheese or the key in Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Did I mention this game makes absolutely no sense and solely exists to be as ridiculous as possible?
Lately, I've made some slight adjustments to this, like that Reginald doesn't actually start talking until The Weird comes into the game. Also, eating junk food (like the aforementioned anthropomorphic doughnuts) won't add to your health. Rather, they add to your armor. Eating healthy food will add to your health. However, some food may try to attack you. Such food will be uncommon, but you can tell if it's going to attack by looking at its face. If it looks scared, it'll run; if it's angry, it will attack.

If you like Doom, Serious Sam, Half-Life, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Earthworm Jim, you are going to love this game. As for what Reginald is like, think of Mr. T mixed with The Old Spice Guy and BAM! You've got Reginald Noble.

Something I've been thinking up is not really the game itself, But the way your control it/get immersed.

So here is my idea.
SAO is Sword art online (Since i say it a few times in the description)
~
A VERY basic grass area (Looking all pretty and realistic) Just flat, No hills (maybe the sky box can have some) And some walls that you can see when you get close to them (To stop you from bumping into the real ones.)

Now. How the game play will work... First, You would need a warehouse (The same size as your level (Of course this would be no problem since you can just change the flat levels design))
Then you would need a decent scan of yourself. (+Every movement you could ever make) So a 3D model.
Something like the Oculus Rift. For visuals.
sensors for your hands fingers toes (Basically a modeling suit) So something can track your movements exactly.
Maybe some sort of wind device (To simulate wind)
A fake weapon (In the real world, So it feels like you are holding something "I don't know how to simulate feeling, This isn't SAO >.>")
And (Optional) Someone to save your ass just in case you are about to walk into a real wall. ((((This is what the In-Game walls should do anyway))))

Okay, Now onto GAME PLAY

Walking would be as realistic as possible, (Making the In-Game model copy you precisely) Same with running, crawling, rolling, farting and sneezing etc etc.

Since we are making you carry a fake sword/gun/weapon<<< We could render a beastly awesome one in game to match maybe with fire coming out of it. (If its a sword that is, "Maybe i am thinking of SAO Q.Q")
We could Indefinitely have other players (They would have to wear the same silly getup as you though)

The OVERALL idea would be. While INSIDE the game you can get a menu (That opens the same way as SAO farrrk) Or through some other command like a button on the Occlus Rift, Then you can build a fantasy world inside the flat area, (Now we are going garrys mod....). Of course, Since you are walking around with a real body, Going up and down wouldn't work so well But building a huge castle with one floor would still be awesome. (Or something like that)

The best part about it would be, It doesn't have to be (Flat land on the earth!!!!) It could be a huge floating island with waterfalls and stuff too. The overall idea for the level would be yours. Same with how you can interact with it, If we could implement a suit with force feedback, we could even have it feeling like you can punch through walls
(Eg if you punch a OBJECT the force feedback will stop your arm on the object) Causing the object to crack, or shatter or turn to dust >:, Of course you don't want to be punching the ground, cause that would ACTUALLY hurt your hand xD

But you could also build a level that just looks pretty (I know this sounds VERY unrealistic) But you could use your house as a reference model and wear the suit around your house. then you could basically have augmented reality for you house "On a more realistic note this WOULD be doable but would probably take you ages to get the house right.)

This can be expanded in so many different directions, And i don't want to make a TL:DR post. So I'm going to stop now. But you guys catch my drift right?

I'm just sticking with my idea of Dark Souls + Journey + Shadow of the Colossus. Dark Souls combat, Journey like storytelling, and boss battles that Shadow of the Colossus itself would pale to match. :)

A game that you play though twice, once as an immortal unstoppable badass fighting weird creatures that can't seem to hurt you, and once as what's really happening, they're all various people trying to stop your insane armed rampage.

How come most of the ideas on these threads would need several million dollars to make?

My little game idea that I'm working on at the moment sort of takes a 'Journey' meets 'Mark of the Ninja' approach. There's a lot of visual story telling and an emphasis on stealth (actual stealth, not just stealth for kicks). Currently trying to nut out a unique mechanic, like Dishonoreds teleport schtick.

1) A free roaming crime game (GTA, Saints Row) with RPG elements. You choose a player class based around different types of criminals that have a noticeable effect on abilities, a background that effects starting stats, and a type of gang for you to run. You choose the gang colors, activities, style, etc. and send them on missions and participate in missions yourself, based on these choices. Maybe even include multiplayer where your class gives you different roles during missions, such as a Getaway Driver performing the driving after the Enforcer robs a bank.

2) A modern day or near-future game with magic. The setting is basically a small city and the surrounding area in a world where magic, and perhaps mythological creatures as well, used to exist, but was suppressed by the ruling powers of the world. The protagonist is a relatively powerful magic user that managed to escape a secret testing facility and fled to this small town at a young age and is trying to fit in with normal life. He is tracked down by the Super Natural Hunting government agency and must escape while trying to bring magic back to world.

Gameplay is a 3rd Person Action RPG, similar to InFamous but with more RPG elements and a stronger shooting element. You level up various schools of magic that range from combat to movement abilities. When you level up a magic school to the max, you get an ultimate ability. For instance, leveling up Air Magic creates a mini tornado. You should be able to max out two schools of magic, and when you do, you can combine the two ultimate moves. For example, maxing out Fire and Air magic creates a flaming tornado that sweeps up enemies and does DoT fire damage. When low on Mana, and especially when starting out, you can use guns in a 3rd person shooter style. While there would be cover based combat, it wouldn't be as much of a requirement as, say for instance, Gears of War. Again, the gameplay would be most similar to InFamous, but with multiple elements and more guns.

Also, since this is a conspiracy-type story, you can see various news broadcasts that attempt to cover up various story events as freak acts of nature, terrorist attacks, etc.

3) A free roaming sandbox horror game. On the surface, everything seems like a normal, generic free-roaming sandbox game, but when you start looking at finer details things start to get creepy. Your character could either be haunted or suffering from dementia, but isn't aware. Cars suddenly appearing or disappearing when you aren't looking, people's faces suddenly being mangled or changing when you glance over at them. Things so subtle that you would assume they are just the regular quirks or flaws in the game engine like other sandbox games suffer from. As time goes on, these become slowly more obvious until a major twist towards the middle or end of the game that flat out reveals your character is insane and doesn't know it.

EDIT: 4) Not exactly an idea for a game itself, but a really cool feature that I would love to see: New Game Plus being different from the first playthrough. What if you played a game, then on the New Game Plus, the characters would remember already doing everything before? Your character breaks the 4th wall to point out how they'll succeed, or moans about how "they've already done this crap before!" Hell, with the knowledge of the future, what if your character could change the events of the game?

Cool work.

Also... That might be the most horrifying game I have ever heard of.

Same lines. Wait for Google Glasses.
Randomly monsters appear and will give chase/attack.
Use a adapted pen device as a gun to kill/frighten off monsters.

Would be fun in the woods with friends.

I'm posting two that I think could have actually have potential

1. A Total War style Elder Scrolls game that you can chose a faction from all the races, and your goal is to conquer Tamriel. Each faction has special unit and unique bonuses; such as High Elves have good field casters and Orcs have powerful beserkers. And for the Khans like in Medievel the Akavir will invade halfway through the campaign.

2. An open world pokemon style game with N64 graphics. You can play as all current pokemon and you battle against other pokemon until you reach legendaries that if you beat you can play as. Certain pokemon have special abilities like Primapes can swing from the trees, charizard can fly, and lapras can swim.

One: Painkiller + Bulletstorm + Plasmids from Bioshock
Story Premise is that your character finds this demonic artifact that allows him to use magic. However it requires blood to power it. The more gruesome an enemy's death the more "Mana" you get back. You get several weapons that have their own advantages and disadvantages all meant to feel a little unique, as well as magic abilities.

Enemies would be mainly melee and "slow ranged" enemies (They throw slow projectiles at you.) and would focus on fighting swarms of "cannon fodder" and maybe a few tougher enemies mixed in.

You also have a few slots where you can equip enhancements for your spells.

Two: Dark Souls-esque RPG.
The world has been torn apart by "The Cataclysm". Magicians were studying a powerful new magic that slowly tore the world into three tiers. The Faithful migrated to the islands that were rising, and continued to study their holy magics. They developed a God complex over the lower worlds and visit to guide it, and to execute those they deem dangerous. Any practicing magician was banned to the sinking worlds, and everyone else stayed on the middle world, and it grew technologically (Steampunk-ish setting). The game takes place 100s of years after this event, as a member of The Prise (The upper tier Race) who is sent by his boss to gather Demon Stones for his own ends.

The game will feature a "Web-style" open world. For example: You start with three paths, those paths split and all eventually meet one way or another.

And as you play you learn the what your boss is REALLY getting you to do, and other members of The Prise try to get you do do their bidding with the Demon Stones, and you have to decide ultimately, who you trust.

The combat will be Dark Souls Lite, essentially. Focusing on planning your attacks, and avoiding damage rather than balls to the wall killing with high numbers.

I'm already writing a story that's based a few years after "The Cataclysm" that explains the backstory.

I'd like to see a title with combat mechanics like in Dark Souls but taking place in a desert setting. Maybe it would have jungles too. Something similar to an Egyptian environment but not actually taking place on earth. In this world you'd be exploring cursed ruins with the option of a second co-op player to assist you. I always thought giant puzzles were fun anyway.

A DBZ fighting game with characters from DB, DBZ and DBGT. I would also make it to where every character is true to the strength and power of its anime counterpart. Maybe even introduce a new villain that threatens to swallow the universe in eternal chaos. I would say his name would be Sin. People might just use the stronger characters like Broly or SSJ4 Goku but, I think I found away to make things more balanced while staying true. Every character would have a special ability that would give them a boost depending on who they're fighting, the type of attacks their hit with, fighting area and their health and ki levels. Just to be safe, a spin the wheel bonus before every battle. The effects might effect you, your opponent, both of you or neither of you. Environments would also have effects.
