Yeah. Anyone here who's used LIVE probably knows what I'm talking about. If not, here's mine.

I open Red Faction Guerrilla, install it, and the game requests I make a LIVE account before I can start playing the game. There isn't a bypass. At the time my internet was down, so I created an offline account and got a-whackin'. Beasty game.
Next time I play, my internet is back up, so I figured I'd try out the multiplayer. Then it told me I needed an online LIVE account. This is where things got ugly.
I tried to sign up, but it said my email address was already in use. I tried logging in with my offline info, it told me it was wrong, so I got my password reset. Then when I tried to login, the game crashed.
I tried again and it managed to login. It told me there was an update for LIVE, and if I declined the update it'd sign me out of LIVE. So I downloaded the update, but it got to 0%, froze, and crashed.
The next two times, it crashed during login.
Just now, it crashed during the update. This whole endeavour has lasted roughly half an hour.

I logged in with my Live account and played Dawn of War 2. It was fun. I even did some coop. I like that game.

I've always updated in manually. Or disabled it, as I don't care about multiplayer. ...Usually though I just stick with my offline account.

It's really been no trouble for me.

I had a similar problem with Red Faction. When I first when to play it said I needed to sign in to start a new game, so I clicked ok and the game starts, in hindsight I should have been suspicious about that. So I play for about 3 hours and then go to save, but the save game option is greyed out, oh well it must have just auto saved or something. Next time I load it up it there is no saved game, because apparently you have to have signed into gfwl in order to be allowed to save your game. So that's 3 hours of play wasted.

So I go to sign into gfwl, which of course didn't let me even after I definitely had the details right. So I head over to the forums but when I try to sign in it would give me an error message then redirect me to the xboxlive site, which says I am signed in. I did eventually manage to sign in and haven't had a problem since, but it wasted a lot of my time.

I also had problems with Dawn of War 2 where about 50% of the time the sign in would just hang and timeout meaning I couldn't play the game even in single player.

I'll be avoiding anything with gfwl from now on as I've had trouble with both titles I own that use it.
