I recently came into the possession of a #1245 tanto ka-bar combat knife., and though im skilled to use one, I've never learnt the maintenance, and you could probably guess where I'm leading to, it's not a virgin blade.
I've checked around a few other more "specialized" forums, but it's either just for ka-bar, or just tanto, and so I'm not quite sure whether it's for a tanto ka-bar...

Though I like you "The Escapist" so i figured I'll try my luck, can you link me to what's necessary for sharpening, cleaning or storage and if possible instructions.
The blade is 8" long and, hard plastic sheathe and serrations near the handle.

They sell stones for sharpening knives. You'll probably need one of those. You might be able to use a kitchen knife sharpener, but I don't know if they'll work the same on a combat knife. From what I've read, tanto-style blades have different sharpening techniques for the the front edge and the bottom edge, so they should probably be sharpened professionally.
