I see the potential for funnyness here seeing as they have Shatner on it. However this should just stick to the internet where it can be that much funnier

There's been comedy like that in sitcoms for years, the only reason it's funny on twitter is because it purportedly really happened

You know, i don't useually watch TV anymore, but this DOES have the potential to be funny.

Also, slightly off topic is the picture in the article not appearing for anybody else?

QUICK EDIT: I just checked out that Twitter link, seriously, it's pretty funny, if there baseing a sitcom around that it does have the chance to have some pretty funny one liners.

I've been following shitmydadsays for ages and it is possibly the funniest, rudest and outrageous thing you can find on Twitter. Worth making an account for.

"There's a word for people like that...No, I'm saying, there's a word and I don't know what it is. I'm not being fucking poetic." 7:44 PM Feb 18th

There making a sitcom out of a twitter feed? Talk about stretching your material. Shatner never was the biggest actor in the world but this seem like a death gasp to me.

I'll join in with the "burn twitter burn!" crowd; as for the show I don't expect it to be a pinnacle of tv comedy but we'll have to wait and see.

One thing's likely though - having Shatner as a lead role it's probably going to spawn a bunch of memes.

Really, America? A damn Twitter feed will get you a production deal now?
Prepare for the influx of morons tweeting about any dumb thing they hear to get a show.
This is seriously like basing a show off of "Life In These United States" from Reader's Digest.
So... would this be considered a reality sitcom?

I think Shatner is too good for it, but I can't think of anyone more fit to the role than Shatner.

I just read the actual feed, and it's actually pretty awesome.

Married with Children was actually funny.

This show will probably suck harder than Final Frontier.

Married with Children is the Parent of all common Family Sitcoms today. At least it had its moments and was written by a staff and not on some twitter page.
I knew that I would get reactions when I criticized Married With Children! In my defense I can say that family sitcoms such as mentioned above, plus The Nanny, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Cosby Show, Home Improvement, Full House, among a few, quickly get very boring in my meaning. It's a personal opinion of course, but I think that most sitcoms are too much alike, that's why I think they suck. Sure, following a safe recipe is, well, safe, but that also means that the series has as many limits as the previous sitcom had. Having 10 sitcoms all joking about the same thing in a similar fashion ain't exactly how I like it, just thought I'd ventilate that :)

Also, that father in Shitmydadsays would probably be too much alike Fran's mother or grandmother in The Nanny, and THAT gives me the creeps.

This is the funniest twitter read I've ever seen, and I think Shatner would have a blast performing with this role.
