I'm not 100% certain on this, but I'm fairly sure that accessing someone else's email, even when they have given you their password, is a criminal offence. If say, for instance, a woman was married and was looking through her husbands emails to pay bills etc and found out he was cheating on her and left him, he could have her charged for hacking into his email.
