I can't remember how long ago I saw the trailer for this game but I remember loving it. The trailer showed a guy shooting stuff up the song Free Bird. When I threw this game into my 360, I was hoping for a absolute thrill ride from start to finish. Sadly, the game wasn't as good as the trailer but it was still fun.

The story:

Your brother has been injected with something the fucked him up badly. Now he is on the loose and you have to fight through Vietcong and zombies to find him. It's not good but it works.

Graphics and sound:

This game has reasonable. The dialog is actually pretty for the most part. The Vietcong and zombies sound okay...that's all to be said about the sound. Graphic wise, the game looks okay at times and outstanding at others. The graphics stand out with its gore. When you shoot some in the face with a rifle, their head will pop. You will see the mashed up inside of their face. It's cool. The blood looks great to. The environments look damn good.

Game play:

This game is short and has no multiplayer. You have to fight through nine or ten levels (I'm too lazy to check) shoot zombies and Vietcong. You can carry three weapons at once: a main gun (rifles, automatics, RPG), a pistols (a magnum, colt), and a machete. The shooting works well and the game has some the best quick time events ever. Unlike in other games that force you to mash a button in a quick time event, all you do is press the buttons on the screen. For most of the game quick time events, you get a second chance if you screw up off but when you activate a trap, you get one chance but it is rare to find traps in the game. The AI is relentless and the zombies love to charge you giving the player a constant sense of emergency.

The thing that makes this game so good is the atmosphere. I felt like I was in a zombie infested Vietnam. I felt like I was there when the US camp was run over by Vietcong or when I was going through a zombie infested ruin. The game does have times that are ridiculous like how can being tied up and punch once kill a solider. Doesn't make sense.

I loved the game and I recommend it to fans of zombie shooters and Vietnam shooters alike.

Maybe I'm just a cynic, but to me this game was crap.
Let me list why, with counterpounts to your claims:
1. Story is laughable at best, and my friends and I had a riot with the guy who is constantly looking for transport and the blatant steriotype Viets.
2. Environments get an F for having no lighting at all. Half the levels are dark and the other half look smudgy.
3. I made it to the last level in about 3 hours
4. Once at the last part of the last level, I discovered that I couldn't beat the game because the zombies kept killing me. There are too many and they arrive too fast. This is on Normal. I beat CoD 4 on Veteran, and I couldn't do this. I tried for an hour and a half and gave up. Not cool.
5. Maybe I've been spoiled by other, less crappy games, but for me there was no suspense or surprises. I had more of a scare when the troll pops around the corner in Lord of the Rings 1.
6. An utterly pedestrian sequel. Play CoD 5/ RE/Dead Rising/ Left 4 Dead if you want zombies or FEAR 2/Dead Space if you want horror instead.

Don't take this the wrong way, your review and opinion is completely valid and I did play this game 6 months ago. I'm just warning others that these are the issues I had with this game.

i am a zombie shooter fan, but just looking at its Metacritic score (38 or something around that) makes me want to stay away.

That was a VERY short review. As in too short. In certain places it felt as if you left out half a sentence. And I'm genuinely confused by your review. I can see the plot thing, I liked the Far Cry Instincts plot because I thought it was hilarious, but everything else just left me wondering if were talking about the same game. Last time I checked, it didn't look that good, as in never outstanding, but you might have a different background of games you play than me. And why didn't you mention Uwe Boll was related to this game, that would be some interesting filler to make the review longer.
