*meh* I drink plain up water in copious amounts during the day anyway, so... *shrug*
And I find that boiled filtered water (yes, both) that's chilled is a very refreshing drink, especially when you've had coffee made from Brighton's scummy water. *blech*
You know Ive seen people do this and it blows my mind. If your going to drink filtered water, why on earth are you making coffee with tap water?(Jello, just about any cooking element.) If it was gross enough that you cant drink it on its own, then perhaps you shouldnt be using it as a base for something else.

As for reduction of sugar, yes, being diabetic, I have to make such a switch and I drink copious amounts of fluid daily. Water if you can get on it predominantly is the best thing for you. For one it will invariably do more to quench thirst than all the soda in the world considering its high sodium (salt) content. So yes, even though soda is cheap, water is still cheaper (not always a lot cheaper, but still cheaper) So it saves more, it will also cause you to drink less, thus saving you even more. Plus, provided it is good, clean, and purified its literally about the most natural thing you can put into your body.
