Actually I drink water at restaurants, at home I drink diet sodas and sometimes tea. I hate the aftertaste of regular soda.

Hmm Actually fish don´t fuck, they just lay eggs and let the males spray their semen over it ...

OT: I drink pretty much water, and a moderate sum of soda.

i say it to my family and friends and i will say it here..you will have to pry the soda away from my cold...dead...hands to stop me from drinking it.. besides caffiene has no effect on me it seems...i drink soda nothing..i drink coffee...nothing..i drink energy drinks..nothing..so i have never had the negative or positive effects..but i will recite yet another line i like to say..i would rather die 20 years earlier with a smile on my face than 20 years later with a grimace..thats why i will never give up the things i like just for health reasons...but i drink plenty of juice and water and eat healthy foods to balance it out.. but i wont ever give up my soda and i wont ever choose water over it when given the option

Well, Norwegian water being the greatest water in the world imo, I drink it all the time. I drink soda too, but much less frequently. I love coffee and tea. I suppose I'm just all-loving.

Seriously, it's more healthy to drink regular Coke than diet (well, atleast here in Sweden, I heard you don't have regular sugar in the states, it's some kind of corn extract or something?). Artificial sugar will fuck up your system.

I don't drink much soda, or eat a lot of candy or snacks. However, I do eat like a horse, and train like an ox.

Nope. I drink less soda cuz it's got a shit-ton of calories, not cuz the crash. I don't get much of a high or a crash from soda. Also, I love cold water. Easily my favorite drink.

Aside from the occasion coffee I drink nothing but bottled water (the 8p a litre stuff, seeing as I get through about 4-5 litres a day). Once you get used to it it's fine.

I just quit soda 3 weeks ago and it wasn't easy. The physical withdrawals will last for a few days up to a week depending on how much you drink. Your energy will take a nose dive for first couple weeks. Try to coordinate quitting over the weekend or on a break from school/work. Trust me on your first few days you will want to stay in bed with headache medicine at the ready. There will be an onset of headaches, irritability, and for me increased anxiety. My energy is still a bit sluggish, but my moods are much more stabilized and it feels nice not to measure my day as going from one soda to the next.

Soda made the low points of my depression really low and gave me panic attacks. I was a heavy soda drinker, but now drinking a lot of water is making my mood more even. Soda leeches off lots of vitamins, dehydrates, and even hurt serotonin production. I'm not a happy person but the scary edge of my depression turned out to be due to lifelong dehydration.

So for me I quit due to mood. I don't care about the idea of losing weight because I am dangerously underweight as is. Sad how most of my chronic emotional breakdowns was due to high soda consumption. Friends note how much better I seem (though still feeling down not suicidally so anymore)

I wish you the best of luck in quitting. What helped me was thinking how much every glass of water was helping me and all the money I will be saving (I spent at least 75 a month on soda). Also every time you crave a soda, drink water. 15 min later and the craving will subside.

I drink pop and energy drinks more than I should. I'm trying to cut back and only drink stuff like that at meals, but no luck. I drink a lot of water as well, so I never run into the problem of dehydration, just dental problems, which I have enough of already without drinking pop all the time.

Anyway, my girlfriend and I drink a case of pop in about a week or a bit less if we bought it just before the weekend. All in all not too bad. We also occasionally switch it up with Coke Zero or Fanta instead of regular Coke.

But, yeah, I used to be a pop fiend. I don't exactly know that I can attribute any suger high/crashes to drinking pop, but either way drinking water is nice and generally more satisfying to the thirst. I drink pop as a treat.

Drinking just about any amount of pop that people would consider normal is going to jack up someones blood sugar giving them a high for a little while, then their energy will drop tremendously within 1-2 hours after the pancreas releases insulin to get the blood sugar back under control which is the crash he's talking about where blood sugar bottoms out again. Some people are less prone to noticing, particularly if they drink a lot of pop simply because their bodies become more resistant to the effects of insulin. I also somewhat suspect that people who drink pop regularly may not notice because they're used to feeling that way and don't even realize that it isn't normal, or healthy, anymore.

I already know the biology of it...
What I'm saying is that I've never met anyone who becomes physically "hyper" (and "chrashing" following that) after drinking any amount of soda. Except for small children, that is. At best, I would describe the resulting state 'energized' when adults or teenagers are concerned.

I haven't had soda since the new year started, and I gotta say, I haven't missed it at all. And I'm a guy who really loved his Pepsi. My advice is buy some water bottles and flavoring packets. It gives you diverse flavor options so you don't get tired of drinking the same thing all the time. It's been working wonders for me these past weeks.
