I love getting new games. More than that, I LOVE waiting for new games. Tom Petty said that "the waiting is the hardest part," but I'm pretty sure that he was not talking about forms of entertainment. I like the anticipation of getting something new. But, I cannot even tell you the amount of times that my heart has sank when I went to a store only to have them tell me that "this is the shipping date, we will have the game in tomorrow." Imagine if theaters did this, yea, now more of you can relate (statisticaly). The movie industry would never do this. So, why do we people who enjoy games have to put up with this kind of garbage from the industry. I believe that if a game is released on a certain date, it should be in stores ON that date. Thanks for hearing my plight!

I'm sure the stores want to have it in as soon as possible-- they can't sell a product that they don't have, right? (Right?)

That said, I like getting my games just as much as the next guy. It would be cool if the games were in stock the second I wanted them.

I usually preorder my games online from Gameplay UK (I'm a lazy bugger when it comes to going shopping) and I'm glad to say that I usually, not always, get the game one day before it's on the shelves over here. Failing that, it comes through on the same day that it is put on the shelves with no queues to worry about (only Royal Mail, but they've been good to me so far).

Mind you, UK release dates are nearly always later than US dates so Americans get to play most games before I do. Although thank christ I'm not living in Australia (coupled with your censorship issues I feel for you guys, seriously).
