Shogun 2 Simply Won't Work

As the title says, Shogun 2 Total War simply refuses to work for me. I've had it since release and have not yet once been able to play. I start the game, the loading screen shows up and a second or two later it reboots my computer.
Everything on my PC is as up to date as I can get and I have all the updates for Shogun 2. The main thing that confuses me is that the demo worked without any problems at all. I was going to post on the Total War forums but it won't let me register (I put in my info and hit submit but it just goes back to the same page).

Can anyone here on the Escapists help me or have I been screwed out of my money?

Steam support is as worthless as always. Just tells me to check with the developer. CA says nothing but "update drivers" and even made a post saying it is all hardware nothing is wrong with our code.
I say otherwise. If it was hardware related, the demo wouldn't have worked as well as it did.

I don't see why it should. Even on high traffic days things run smoothly. Is it something to do with your browser settings?

TWCenter worked, but the official forums didn't. Forgot TWC wasn't the official forums (brainfart).

I would strongly advise you avoid Shogun 2, especially when the demo works better and there is a custom battle mod for it.

Is it just a restart, or does it show any blue screens or anything?

What are your hardware specs?

I do know that for me, it would crash when loading the campaign for the first time. After the recent patch on Steam, that issue was fixed.

Total War is known for being a buggy series, and it often times takes a month or two to get things smoothed out.
