Well, seeing as Gearbox is a company from Houston, TX in the States, I'm guessing it's a business as well as a legal thing to keep this competition in the States. It's also a contest and the odds of winning such a deal is pretty damn low. You and many other people from the States will be missing out on the same thing so I think, overall, the scale is even...when we take into account that getting to a US GameStop is not being put into consideration.chozo_hybrid said:Kiwi here as well, we never seem to get any gaming promotions remotely like this. We usually even get screwed over with collector editions, over pricing and later release times. Yet we don't even get the chances for things like this too.
I used to work at The Gamesman before EB/Gamestop bought out the company, I hated their business practices so I left, but at least we ran our own competitions. We even had gaming events at our store from time to time, was great.
But overall, we get screwed constantly. We pay way more, but get the same or less a lot of the time.
As for other things not related to the actual competition, prices do suck in other regions but I also don't hear about the Japanese complaining about exclusives they don't get or the price they pay for games. And, theoretically, if you're so upset with the pricing scheme, why are you buying the games? Boycott!
Most of that wasn't my point. I'm really trying to say that complaining, the majority of the time, gets us nowhere. I think my point is better exemplified by the fact that complaining does nothing for us, any of us, on a whole. In my experience, complaining makes the listeners feel worse and the complainer feel no less better (unless, for some reason, they get what they want). My two whatevers.
