The title explains everything. Ok maybe not ever.... but short in this days, this last 2 generations

So, one day I rent 2 games because I think that day was 2x1.... anyway one of those games was TERMINATOR SALVATION, I was curious and interested, so I spend like 3-6 hours I don't remember well, I always try games on the hardest difficulty, when I finished the game I had 100% of achievements. I was like "that's all?"

I feel sorry for the person who actually buy the game since is not great, is short and the story it's pretty bad.

Which is the shortest game that you ever played?

Oh yeah of course Arcade games don't count.

Of course, Portal. Pretty much anyone can do a 1-hour run of the game with a bit of practice.

Honestly, most FPSs are terribly short in their single player campaigns. It would be a crime to sell them for so much if it weren't for the fact that most of the reason many games like them are developed for multiplayer (over 300 hours in MW2, which is a short time compared to many other players I'm sure)

Hmm...probably House of the Dead: Overkill. Taking my time, I can beat in approximately 3 hours. Of course, I probably have played shorter, but I forget the title...

Portal.

Also, I finished Uncharted 2 in a day. But it was an 11 hour marathon, and on the medium difficulty. So probably not.

Longest game I played was when I hired Okami. Beat the first boss after a week of almost solid gaming, had to return it.

What was that indie budget game that finishes in like five minutes?
You know, the one where you walk left continuously, looking for treasure and have a spouse?

Well... once someone reminds me, /thread

The shortest game i have ever played is most likely the flash game called You have to burn the rope [http://www.kongregate.com/games/Mazapan/you-have-to-burn-the-rope]

Won in about 30 - 45 seconds
On the other hand, do give it a try. It has a pretty neat completion song (kind of like "Still Alive" when you complete portal)

Borderlands. Beat it in 2 hours once, but that's probably because I knew enough about the game to write a 500,000+ Character guide on farming for it... (Rough Estimation. Very long though...)

Minecraft. Slap down a block, call your creation finished and quit. Less than a minute.

Goddammit, you stole that one from me! It's the first game I come to think about when hearing "short, adorable game". Also, the ending song? Unbeatable.

Now, about commercial games? I have played a bunch, but none of them come to mind. So, the shortest one I DO remember is Kane and Lynch 2. Beat it in about 5 hours on medium difficulty, dying a bunch of times in some spots.

Also now that I think of it, Doom can be incredibly short if you cut to the chase in every level-- par times are around 2 minutes at best per level. See for yourself [http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/470460].

I just tried that one... and it definitely became the shortest game I've ever played... The song is a whole helluva lot longer than the playthrough... and seems intent on pointing that out...

Vinnie the Vole's Existential Nightmare. Clocks in at under 2 minutes.
