Altitiude is a Indie 2D flying game, it is a very creative take on 2D multiplayer action, the game has many pros and just as many cons. What makes Altitude so fun is that the game is very simple, you point in the direction you want to go and your airplane follows, the throttle is controlled by how far out you hold your cursor to the airplane and F/Left click fires your weapons. A low level of physics is involved in the game, climbing and slowing down in mid air will cause your plane to stall like in real life, you can track your stall speed with a red bar on top of your plane, a green bar determines your health and a blue bar represents your energy (Afterburner fuel/Energy to fire weapons.) The game is very easy to pick up and play but its almost to easy. Within 2 hours of playing online I found that I was one of the highest scoring players in the game.

Now Altitude features several maps with different backdrops and designs along with a map editor but not much else is to be found. The game has online but lacks in game modes, you have several different choices, from Free-For-All, TDM, Ball (Soccer), and Base (Base is a mode where both teams try to destroy the others command first.) This gets very old very fast and after just a few hours of game time it gets old and repitative.

Altitude models its level system after the Modern Warfare perk system. The higher your level gets the more perks you unlock for your plane along with XP challenges.
The perk system
Final Thoughts: Altitude is a unique take on 2D multiplayer action with great controls but it is very very repetitive. It is free on Steam for PC and Mac for about 20 more hours and has a retail price of 5 dollars.
My final score: 7.6/10
This is also my first review on The Escapist any criticism on this review is appreciated
