Should choosing a new love interest in Mass Effect 2 be considered "cheating"? *SPOILERS AHEAD*

Great minds think alike then, because that very same thought had crossed my mind.

That picture is great. Ah, Blasto... which reminds me, there was a distinct lack of Hanar in the second game. Perhaps they, the Elcor, and the Turians will feature prominently in the next game? We can only hope... I've had more than enough of the asari for now, and while the salarians, krogan, and quarians are cool, they've had their turn in the spotlight thanks to the second game.

(I'm not talking about team members mind you, just the species you meet.)
Well if they expand on the Drell (which wouldn't surprise me after Thane) they're likely going to put us on the Hanar homeworld at some point.

Which would be awesome.

Also- Insincere Endorsement: You have not heard Shakespeare, until you have heard it in the voice of Elcor.

The Elcor bouncer outside Afterlife is awesome. Everyone should stick around and listen to him.

*lays in his bed cuddling his beloved Tali after destroying the collector threat and listening to soft, calming music.*

My life is perfect. I'm level 30, i've got an awesome ship, way better then my old one, I'm a spectre again, no longer part of the alliance or cerberus, a girl i can love and relate to, and i got to tell The Man just where he could shove the remains of the collector base. Life is good.

*door opens suddenly and Liara walks with happy and her eyes closed* "Sheppard! I've killed the shadow broker and im finally free, we can be together again!"

...

>_> Awkward...

Well on my paragon playthrough I did not cheat and shepard was staring at the picture of ashley b4 the last mission. On my renegade I had a romance with Tali, and I was epicly pissed because she said"I want you see what I look like under this helmet." But of course they didn't show it, not even her face, seriously theres no excuse for this. This goes beyond Mass Effect 2, this goes for every game that intentionaly doesn't show us a face, the Halo series comes to mind. I don't know about anyone else, but it is easier for me to identify with someone in a game when I can see their face.

I consider her hardened attitude towards you in ME2 to be a test of sorts, purposefully tempting you to move on. If you resist, you should be rewarded in ME3.
That would be kind of fucked up and selfish on her part though don't you think? I mean she lives for like 1000 years, plenty of time to find love. Humans only live for, according to Ash in the first game, 120 or so years. Humanity is a short lived species and it's rude and downright ridiculous of Liara to expect a human to wait for her to spend "possibly decades" finding the Shadow Broker. So I have to agree with the OP, it shouldn't be considered cheating, and more so if it turns out Liara is "testing" Shepard, I'd go renegade on her ass and fucking throw her out a window.

Err my ME1 Love Interest was Ashleigh, and she broke up with my Shepard long before he started boning Tali, most definitely not freaking cheating, she basically told Shepard to go to hell.

I can sort of see her point regarding hitching up with Cerberus, but honestly, she refused to even listen to any explanation, so in my mind, total splits, no cheating at all.

To be honest I'm tempted to make a female Sheppard to romance Guarus, and if Mordin was an option I'd totally be all over that, screw gender, the dude is totally awesome.

The one problem I've found with Mass Effect romances is that if I pick paragon choices the women think I'm in to them when I'm only being a gentlemen.

When I first started playing I was kind of devestated that the old team had moved on but looking back I prefer this team hands down.

I'm sticking with Tali to end.

Edit: It isnt cheating. Liara had no knowledge I was going to be successfully resurrected, to her I was dead. A ghost from her past...a spectre.

I really don't think it should be considering that you can't pursue your old intrest. I liked Liara WAY more than Tali, Jack and Miranda combined, so I was pissed when i talked to her and she's gone totally kill crazy.

Ok, this topic has been all over the place since Mass Effect 2's release. First off, do multiple playthroughs if you're worried about the potential backlash of "cheating" in Mass Effect 3. Secondly, think about the whole situation from Ash, Kaiden, and Liara's point of view. Ash and Kaiden are pretty obvious about they're feelings for you, apologizing and talking about the future. They are upset at first, understandibly, considering you show up after 2 years working with Ceberus, a shady terrorist cell. However, it is clear there is an attachment on their end.
As for Liara, the main problem with most of you is you never go into deep enough dialogue to really understand the situation. Liara is constantly being watched, so she cannot show too much emotion. And :SPOILER: Liara is the reason you're alive. She went on a mission, recovered your body from the shadow broker, who happened to steal you and attempt to sell you to the collectors, and gave you to Ceberus where you were later revived. Thats good enough reason to have a vendetta against the shadow broker, and clearly she still has strong emotional ties. /thread

I'm reasonably certain that's just a place holder design. They really wouldn't put much detail into her face since you're not supposed to see it.

As if it takes Shepard decades to do anything. If Shepard wants the Shadow Broker dead, it'll take a month at most before he's six feet under.
Shepard:"I'm a Spectre."
Elias:"Prove it."
Shepard:"I don't have to prove anything to you. *shoves a gun in his face* Spectres are above the law. Understand me?"
*shortly after*
Thane: "That may go down as the shortest interrogation ever."

You don't fuck with Commander Shepard. You have information? It's his/hers now.

I don't know about you guys, but I will remain loyal to Jack in my ME2 playthrough, as I honestly see that her romance was the most fulfilling. I mean, honestly, to anyone who saw it.. You have to agree.

In my ME1 - ME2 Playthrough, I intend to romance Liara / No one in ME1, then Tali in ME2.. After all, Tali is just so damn.. Cute. lksjda.

I did, jack is a sweet girl under all that pain and anger, but you dont see much of it. I could see sheppard courting her (and he has each time) but, i fear i cannot resist Tali *swoons*

But now what will we do?
ME3, Ashley/Kaiden/Liara is going to march on up to us and be pissed about wah wah wah i cant believe you cheated on me and yadda yadda yadda.
You cant stay together, with a Dead Man! Bwahahaha!
Would you step aside while they confronted your love? (Oooh, i wouldnt do that with Kelly >.< wont end well)

Just fyi, if you dont develop relationships to the point where the other crew members love you, and you talk to Mordin, youll have a conversation about how he thinks your attracted to him and its classic. I found this on my first playthrough where I didn't cheat. And cheating with Garrus? Hell yes
