[b/]I think my point has kind of been misunderstood[/b]
so I've been playing Sleeping Dogs and I gotta say I'm really loving it. a crime themed GTA style game that actually rewards you for NOT being a psychopath, its great fun
now in this context "offended" is too stronger word, more like "annoyed"
[b/]*minor early spoilers that aren't really spoilers*[/b]
I've come across a mission where I meet a character called Amanda (or Amy for short...since when is Amy short for Amanda?)
so anyway..she is American..blonde a tourist pretty much...basically you take her to the martial arts school where you do a training exercise whatever, anyway I certainly got "love interest" vibes from her
now I know this is waaaaaaaaay to early in game to really say anything...but again it occurd [small/](seriously Google chrome spell checker.. that's a word!)[/small] to me that this "friend" for our main protagonist is whiter than white..and American (I'm assuming even though she was dressed like a chav)
as in (of coarse) often it seems that in this kind of thing love interests and main characters are American...or white at the least. obviously to appeal to westerners blah blah you get the Idea
and its not like I actually AM bothered...I like the game too much to be bothered (and as I said.. early days) its just I feel that these things are alot more noticeable for me these days because of all the analysis we do on games and popular media.....it definitely feels like something Yahtzee would point out.....
so I guess what I'm really asking is
[b/]do you ever come across something and think to yourself "should I have a problem with this?" but then just shrug and go "meh"[/b]
