For PC, absolutely no doubt. For consoles, being picky is a good thing.

No, probably not. The new one comes out in a couple months so it'd probably be better to just wait for that.

Yes you should, MW2 is out soon but COD4 is still an amazing game and the online is great.
Having said that, you should also use capital letters and question marks.

Are you an obsessive for online multiplayer despite how broken and infuriating it is? If so then yes.

Do you want a balanced game (online) and an entralling single player campaign? If so then might I reccomend a completely different genre?

Just wait for the new one. Unless you're strapped on cash and want an online full of so many hacks and cheats that it'll most likely make you break your game.

Do you want to?

If the answer is yes, buy it.
If the answer is no, don't buy it.
If the answer is niether, make your bloody mind up.

Definately - Even though the new ones out shortly this is still a superb game and worth owning.

Its story is unparalleled in the FPS genre. It's a shining example of what a shooting game can be. I'd recommend you buy it.

Pretty much this, and CoD 4 is STILL $50 and thats just fucking gay, by the time MW2 comes out CoD4 will still be only $10 cheaper.

No. Spend you money on something better, there is a big selection in that category.

It depends. If you intend to buy MW2 either way, then yes. That way you get to see how it's come, give the MP a shot, and get practice at getting infuriated at Veteran Difficulty. The SP is a lot of fun, and it's still heavily played online. Especially on the 360, where you don't have to deal with servers with stupid rules and stupidly high player limits.

Modern Warfare is a very good online FPS. The offline singleplayer is short and not worth it at all, but if you're into playing online, then its definitely a must-buy - there will still be those who play CoD4 when MW2 comes out in November.

I'd probably recommend it on PC, but the console versions aren't bad either.

Do you like shooters? If the answer is yes, you might want to check it out. Personally, I prefer Battlefield: Bad Company due to its destructible environments, funny singleplayer, and great multiplayer, but it's your choice.

On a side note, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 looks better than Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2 (and no, I can't say it any other way).
