It sounds like a great game, but i get the feeling the graphics and AI haven't aged too well.. is it worth the $10?

Fuck yes it is worth $10. Download a hi-rez texture pack to get past the bad graphics if it really matters that much to you. But yeah, its totally worth it.

Yes. You shouldn't even be asking. You should already be playing it.

The original? Sure. If only to try it out. Just think of all the little references you'll get when human revolution hits.

People that love the game game will say: Yes
People that hate the game will say: No

It's really hard to respond to such question because i have no idea what games you like, do you mind playing games with dated visuals, do you like cyberpunk setting, if stealth/shooter first person perspective rpg your kind of genre, do you like to explore every nook and cranny in games you plays, etc.

The questions could go on and on. Personally i'd say buy it, 10$ is not that much, tend to spend about that daily on food and stuff alone, if you won't like it at least you will know what is that game that makes many people climax at the very mention of it, and will give you slight idea whenever the upcoming DEx:HR will be worth your money.

A friend got me a copy back when the December sales were going on in the Steam store. All my friends have long since played, beaten, re-beaten and lauded the game. Considering it wasn't my money, and it had been years and years since I had heard of it, I gave it a shot.

I'm glad I did.

Yes, it looks rough. Going to recommend cranking all the visual settings high, and perhaps upping the brightness as some of the textures can look gritty to the point of being obscuring. The AI isn't mind-blowing but they're somewhat bright.

The beauty is in the system. The option to take out the missions using whatever skill you decided to put training into was unique at the time, and there's not a whole lot of games out there that use the same tactic in the same way today.

If you dig cyberpunk, it's worth the $10.

Just avoid the swim skill. It's largely useless (although I'm sure someone out there will tell me I'm wrong). Additionally, Deus Ex 2 is only okay, gameplay-wise. I liked it more for the music.

from what I've heard, the gameplay of Deus Ex sounds like my ideal game, with the ability to choose how to approach situations, and even the morality aspect of having the option to use nonlethal weapons and stealth rather than killing. I just fear that it may not have aged well

I think I will buy it, $10 isn't much,

I'm not the best person to ask about ageing of games considering i regularly play Mount and Blade which had dated visuals even at release and i regularly play games from 10-15 years ago ^^

Im sure, somewhere there there are people that say Dues Ex is crap and waste of developers time and money. That's how the world works.

Deus Ex is one of the best games of all time and it would be a darn shame were you to miss out on it.

Lol according to Steam, I've played over 400 hours of my Mount & Blade: Warband (thats not even including all the time spent on the previous Mount & Blade)

I'd never played it before picking it up on a steam sale a few months ago (much to my shame, I know). Got around to playing it just the other day. Really enjoying it. Just remember to save often. It would seem that autosave has made me soft, so I ended up playing that first level about 5 times.

Really hasn't aged well, but there's still fun to be had. Just remember that they were first to do a lot of stuff and cut them some slack.

Also, don't bother with lockpicking. It is a silly skill.

It's pretty damn good. A bit clunky, but still damn good. The first mission is a bit "meh", but it picks up pretty quickly.

It's definitely worth the 10$, IMO.
