I'm bored and am in the mood for an old RPG. I read some things about NWN2 but it has not totally convinced me. Should I buy it?

It's an alright game, I guess. The story and most of the characters never struck me as particularly interesting.
Judging from other people's reviews / my own experience, you should get it only after Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment, Arcanum, NWN 1's expansions, and KOTOR.

Only for the Mask of the Betrayer expansion. The main campaign is cliched but fun with a terrible ending. Mask of the Betrayer is one of the best RPG's in recent memory, in my opinion. Storm of Zehir is cool, haven't progressed very far in it though. It's kind of like Icewind Dale, in that you make your entire party instead of recruiting them.
