Should I get a PS3 and/or Xbox360?

Well when you think of it, the money you pay for XBL subscriptions could be going into buying a PS3. To answer your question, I think the PS3 is a good choice because you can play all of your PS2 games on it.

No you can't. PS3s haven't been able to play PS2 games for years.

if you had asked this 2 years ago, i would definitely say 360, since the PS3's lack of a game library was a bigger issue than 360's rrod. but now that PS3 actually has games to play, 360's self-destruct mechanism is pretty hard to ignore--especially since they still haven't fixed the problem even after several redesigns (actually, they got rid of RROD...by removing the red LEDs).

This is also something from years ago. They have fixed RROD (and no not just by removing the red LEDs, it was fixed for over a year before the 360 S hit shelves). These days PS3s and 360s fail at about the same rate. I hear people talking about how their old PS3s YLOD all the time.

TC, I would suggest you make sure you're getting sound advise and know what you're actually getting with each console before you buy one. It seems that a lot of people here want to tell you stories from 2006 instead of telling it to you like it is now in 2010.

Just look at the lineups. The PS3 has games like LittleBigPlanet and has PSP support, but the 360 has its fair share of good console exclusives like Lost Odyssey and Halo: Reach, as well as better overall ports.



Personally, I prefer the PS3. It's just me, but PSN just beats XBL. It's not as active as XBL, but the games that are multiplayer are usually better(Demon's Souls, MAG, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, etc.), and PSN has a lot of PS1 and PSP support, and I like the design more than XBL.
