Hmmm.. No, i do not recommend it.. Unless you have very strong will and can control yourself so you dont get lost in that game completely if you know what i mean..

To many people have had their lives ruined because they get to addicted to it, but if you dont have that problem.. Then go for it..

Personally i have never played it and never will, because i have a very addictive personality, so i best stay away methinks..

From the sounds of it+that you need to ask strangers this question the answer is easy:

no.

Only play a game if you actually want to play it.

Negative, live freely. that game reprograms you, making you nsecure and your social ladder is pretty fecking restrained. my brother has been turned into an egotistical shut-in by it.

I quit, and haven't been happier since. I have very poor will so I will not be able to go back to play casually, although, when I get a job and don't have the time to play seriously i'll try.

Go for it! If you liked it back then, you'll like it more now! Either that or give DC Universe Online a try.

I've been quite impressed with Cataclysm thus far. The general 'flow' of the game has vastly improved, and the introduction of phased zones throughout level progression does contribute to a feeling of impact on the game world. I am definately enjoying it far more than I did in BC and WOTLK, during which I played only sporadically due to the huge boring grinds present.

However. The quest objectives are still very similar (with a few exceptions), collect x items, kill y mobs, and gameplay itself is still the same. Also, end-game content is still comprised entirely of raids and heroics.

I'm pretty sure there's a trial out, why not try it and see?

I quit just before the lich king was raidable at the end of WOTLK. I got too involved with the raiding side and lost the "fun" parts of it.

It depends on what you want out of the game. if fun then level and socialise. If you want a 2nd job then raid :p

You'd probably like cata. Blizzard offers like a trillion free trials a month, I say get a trial, see what it's like. Most of the game has changed, so you can see it with just a vanilla trial. Then reactivate your old account.

...and honestly, I don't find WoW that addictive >.> ...So you should be okay. I mean I'm not addicted. You wont be addicted either.

...for those of you missing the point, I'm using the same logic as above posters.

I agree with most of the posts here, if you wanna play it just play it.

But if you are looking to replace a void in your life, don't you'll just gain weight.

His potential addiction is not my problem. He asked if an MMO was worth getting back into. I can only offer advice based on the improvements in the game, not his psychological issues.

What's your intention? If you're just going to do it for the raiding, then no, it's probably a waste of your time. If you want to go back, see what's changed, and just become part of the community again, then sure, why not?

its not an addiction that im worried about lol. I have been hearing nothing but good things so far about the new exp and i just wanted to know if it was worth playing again. I heard that most of the quests have been redone and i kinda wanna fly my flying mount thro azeroth instead of just outland

speaking from personal opinion, i see WoW as a time sponge. a very good time sponge that can be rather entertaining, but to be honest you get out what you put in. if you have the time to WASTE and the money to spare, go ahead, otherwise i'd pass imo.

side note: cata has made WoW a LOT better than WOTLK, and there is no denying it has got a lot more fun, but you need to have the spare time

Eeeh, I'm going to say no.

I got out while I could but some of my friends are still stuck in the swamp of constant raiding and grinding. I really hate to hear the words: "No I can't come with you I have to mill herbs and make inscriptions." "I have to raid or else I will be kicked." It is that perceived necessity I felt once that made me flee in terror and never look back.

That said, I've heard lots of good things about it. But it still costs money to play after you've purchased. And you are still going to do the same thing over and over in slightly different locations.

It's amazing! No, seriously. I hadn't actually played WOW in months and it'd been over a year since I played or payed for more than a few weeks at a time (aka I had an active subscibtion for 1 month the entirely of last year, and barely even played during that time!), but having received Cataclysm and a game-card during Christmas as a gift, I've been having more fun with WOW than I remember having had in years.

Truth be told I haven't even touched the raiding aspect of the game yet, nor even heroic dungeons. I just had a lot of fun leveling up my main character to 85 and seeing the new content, which is easily Blizzards best work to date, then when I got bored around level 85 I started a new character to try out the redone leveling zones and I've been having a damned fun time of it!

Redridge Mountains, with the John J. Keeshan questline, a character who's name must always be either bolded or capitalized due to sheer badassness, was the last zone I leveled through and I'll be damned if I wasn't genuinely laughing out loud and just plain having fun playing it! Good god, there's a part which shamelessly copies that scene in Rambo 4 where Rambo is on the jeep-mounted turret, and it had me laughing so hard I was having trouble playing the game.

My new favourite character in Warcraft... and the neysayers say WOW doesn't have any story. WOW don't need no story, it's got
John J. Keeshan!
