I am a fan of Fallout 3 and just beat it. I have heard mixed opinions about New Vegas in the past but most of the negative opinions were regarding bugs that became apparent on release. By now, surely, the bugs have been fixed. I ask you to post your opinion of Fallout New Vegas and tell me if it is worth it.

(I am buying for Xbox and it currently costs $20)

I would get the game. Its a great game. They added a lot more quest (like in oblivion). And for the love of god get the DLC asap. Honest Hearts is frecking awsome.

It's my favorite game of the past year, so I say yes. Most if not all of the bugs have been fixed and the DLCs are awesome. Ger it! :3

buy it. the start is probably better than Fallout 3, because it throws you right into the field. plus, the second quest you'll do is fully faction-based (you can either defend or take over the starting town). plus the storyline is quite good, i havent experienced many bugs and overall its a bloody good game.

I've spent around 230 hours playing the game through various playthroughs. It's a great game, if you liked Fallout 3 you'll like New Vegas.

I loved Fallout 3, and recently grabbed New Vegas in the Steam sale, it's definitely worth $20. Honest Hearts is definitely worth getting as well, can't speak for the others as I haven't gotten to them yet.

Although it'd be best for the PC version because of mods, but it's still a good game of it's own merit.

Hell to the yes. There's so much more to do than in Fallout 3, and more variation in equipment, as well as more skill checks during conversations.

It pretty much improves on FO3 in every way.

I'm 35 hours in and I still have a crap tonne of things to do. I haven't even started any of the DLC packs yet.

Why don't you just save up and get the Game of the Year edition that we all know will come out? It's bound to have all the dlc content on it. Probably.

And in regards to all the bugs being fixed, I am not so sure about that. I booted up my copy of it yesterday and downloaded the two new patches. I tried to load my game (second playthrough and I had put at least twenty hours into it) and it didn't load.

Other than that it seems bug free. So you gotta ask yourself. Do you feel lucky? :D

Definitely get it. Big improvement over the gameplay of Fallout 3. Never experienced a single bug ever. Don't know why people complain about it.

I've only played an hour of Old World Blues but so far it's the best of the three for me - wait till you see the amazing dialogue with the robots ;)

OT:

Yeah. It's not as atmospheric as Fallout 3 but it makes many improvements in other areas. Just be ready to stare at many long, horrible loading screens on the 360 version.

Well there isn't loads of difference between it and Fallout 3. I got it with Honest Hearts and Dead Money for about £13 for PC. Personally, if I were you I would wait until they release the next two DLC and see if you can get New Vegas in a bundle with all the DLC but definitely get it some time because I would definitely recommend it to any fan of Fallout 3.

Personally, it's better than Fallout 3 in every single way.

Much more role-playing, quests, gameplay additions, choices, more grey morality, more extensive story, karam has basically been replaced with reputation.

Also the companion quests are fantastic.

Also I found Dead Money and Honest Hearts to both be very good, haven't had the opportunity to buy OWB yet.

I think it's way, way better than Fallout 3. In terms of bugs it was rock solid at the start but really fell to pieces at the 25 hour mark and I had to quick save every room transition and was constantly reloading. That might have been a mod conflict though.

Definetely get it. It is awesome and $20 is a damn good price. I have played both console and PC versions. The difference between them are negligible and the bugs never broke the game, although thats because I'm lucky I geuss( just be prepared to see a fair amount of radscorpions clipping into the ground hilariously). I have played for almost 100 hours on my PC version unmodded without any DLC and I loved every second. It is one of my favorite games ever. GET IT.
