The value question depends more on what you're getting with the package (controllers, mem cards, etc.).
Personally, I've heard good things about the original Sonic Adventure and the Power Stone series. You can also get MVC2 on the Dreamcast, I think (if you're into fighting games).
its much cheaper/better on the 360

Oh, for the love of God, yes!
That system was awesome.
Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Sea Man, Phantasy Star. . . Just look up some definitive lists of best games and then collect them. That is, of course, only if you actually dig retro gaming but that was when SEGA was king and kicked huge amounts of ass.
Sega was only the king for a short time during the Genesis/SNES war. They just managed to eke out a lead against nintendo, and then did everything wrong, and screwed it up. Released the Sega CD, then the 32x, both of which were horrible, they announced the Neptune, which was just a standalone 32x.. then the Playstation came out, and they shit the bed and released the Saturn, then immediately announced and released the Dreamcast, which was good, and had decent games, but then EA bought the NFL licenses, the PS2 dropped and people flocked to that instead of to the Dreamcast, and Sega left the hardware market with its tail between its legs.
But yes, the Dreamcast was great, but it wasn't "from a time when Sega were king".. Sega were never really king. The best they can say is that the Dreamcast was better then the N64 and PS1, which were technically one generation behind. It couldn't compete with the PS2, and probably would have beat the Gamecube if it had really tried, but it didn't.
