Should I get Persona 4?

So I've been thinking about this for a while now and thought it best to ask here, Should I play Persona 4?

I've never been hugely into JRPG's with the exception of The World Ends With You (which is one of my favourite games to date) and the Pokemon series. But I've heard really good things about Persona 4. In a game I do tend to go for story over most other things, and I read Persona 4 is a murder mystery thing. Plus Extra Credits say its really good, and they rule!

So should I or shouldn't I?

But yes, definitely one of the greatest games ever in my opinion. The murder mystery gets really compelling.

It has a few of the usual JRPG problems so if you're already not a fan of them it probably isn't going to change your mind on the matter. The story is very good, but it does have a few problems here and there.

I believe there to be some flaws. After a while the game starts to get in the way of the story, especially around the time you have to go save Nanako. The story does often get put on hold until the player gets through the next dungeon.

Not to mention the fact the whole girlfriend thing is kind of meaningless, and you can have your girlfriends in the same room as each other with no mention of the fact you're dating both of them. Hell, Rise often opening says she is into the protagionist and neither Chie, Naoto, or Yukiko say a word even if they are currently the protagionist's girlfriend.

If you have any interest at all in JRPGs then its worth a look. The story is good if you can stand the cutesy characters and anime style. If you cant then it probably isnt worth your time.

Personally I think its a good game and Ive played it all the way through 3 or 4 times

Well lets see. Persona 3 fes was one of the greatest RPGs on the PS2 and even awarded as such.

And Persona 4 only improved on the P3/P3Fes formula.

Get this, and if you have a PSP, get Persona 3 Portable. Once you play P4, it's tough to go back to AI controlled party members, and the PSP version of P3 has all the improvements of 4.
