I'd recommend you play it, though against the MMO version of it. Stick with the RTS if you want a great story and a lot of hours of fun.

I love the dead...Pokenator said:Warcraft 3 (and frozen throne) was a great, memorable (and quotable if you're really nerdy) game with a really enjoyable campaign. If you're the RTS type I highly recommend it.
This is exactly what I'd say too. The older first two set the foundation for the genre in much the same way that Doom, Wolfenstein, and Battlezone set the foundations for FPSes. They were amazing games, and without them we'd never have the genre that we have today, but they simply wouldn't be fun to someone who's played more recent games.ciortas1 said:If I were you, I'd just pick up Warcraft 3 and its expansion. The older ones haven't really aged well.
Yes, how dare he make a mistake, we require perfection! We require absolute flawlessness! He shouldn't even have been born if we were going to confuse two games just because they share a name!Meltyman said:Life_Is_A_Mess

Yeah, so was I.MaxPowers666 said:I think he was talking about actually buying games.JRShield said:For that kind of money, I'd get red alert 2. Waaay beter than warcraft.
It's more than that, apart from beeing DotA it's also HoN, which is a complete game, based very very very heavily on dota, down to the same items and heroes almost. It basicly took DotA and made it a stand alone game, to free itself of the problems caused by the WC3 engine.rabidmidget said:Warcraft 3 is quite a fun game, besides DOTA is practically a game itself.
