I think you've answered your own question there, buddy. If you really don't want to stop gaming then don't do it.FaithorFire said:So, should I even bother staying a gamer? please! someone! convince me I don't need to just give up the pastime I love so much!
This! There's no reason to stop gaming entirely. It's a bit melodramatic.Optimus Hagrid said:Older PC games are pretty damn cool. Games like UT 2004, Half Life 2, Painkiller etc run fine on nearly every computer. And don't forget the enormous amounts of indie games on the internet...
Not bad luck. Just a low Perception stat. (Which a lot of people seem to suffer with here, lol) Look at my previous post for clarification.Meemaimoh said:This! Not that I blame you. What a horrible string of bad luck.
AC unit is 7 feet away, in the window, 360s on a pad on my desk. No vibrations whatsoever from that thing, but the 360 stays nice and coolKing of the Sandbox said:A high power AC unit right above it?
Damaged discs?
I think I see your problem. Sorry, but I call gg on MS.
(To clarify, A/C units, especially "high power" ones, vibrate. A LOT. Discs in XBOX's don't take kindly to being moved around in the system. Viola, problem solved, continue being a gamer, just one that doesn't overlook the obvious.)
Ah, because earlier you said right ABOVE it. So, you see my confusion.FaithorFire said:AC unit is 7 feet away, in the window, 360s on a pad on my desk. No vibrations whatsoever from that thing, but the 360 stays nice and coolKing of the Sandbox said:A high power AC unit right above it?

The AC nearby to keep it cool is also a newer development. The first system failed on a table by itself away from everything (no extra cooling). The second was when it was set up in my basement (just a fan blowing dust away), all that was nearby was a foot-tall Optimus Prime. But how would poor placement lead to the system corrupting my entire hard drive? I know how to care for electronics. This 360 has traveled with a PS2, an SNES, and a Wii for as long as I've had it. None of my other systems has so much as frozen up in years. How much is there to it?King of the Sandbox said:Ah, because earlier you said right ABOVE it. Also, direct air from the AC isn't good either. When it hits the warm from the box itself, condensation can occur, which is basically like turning your 360 into the worlds biggest steamed paperweight.
Why that would scratch your disc, I dunno. But to have that many consoles suffer the same problem, you're obviously overlooking something.
