I have been thinking through this a lot and considering whether it is worth buying a Gaming PC. I know its a very subjective question but can anyone give me a couple of reasons to buy one. The PC I am looking at is:
1 x Intel Core2 i7 950 3.06Ghz Quad-Core CPU
MSI X58 PRO ATX socket i7
Kingston ValueRAM 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz
PALIT 1GB GeF GTX 560 TI PCI-E 2.0
Samsung OEM 22x SATA DVDRW Blk
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA 64MB 3.5
Antec CP-850 Power Supply Unit (850 Watt)
All together it will cost £862.80, and I am building it myself. Really I am trying to gauge the sort of community that is on the PC because I know that is a very important part of any platform. And also any other game recommendations right now the reason I'm thinking of getting a PC is StarCraft 2, Dawn of War 2 and The Witcher 2 and obviously I am gonna go back to some classics. Thanks anyone, sorry for the long post.

I would go with Sandy bridge since it outperforms socket 1366 and have the same price (in sweden at least).

But with that build you should go with 3x rams not 2x.

I would go with a full modular psu.

I would recommend Section 8 Prejudice (Very cheap) and Mass effect serie if you havent played them.
Bad company 2 is fun aswell and ofc Crysis 1 & Warhead

Btw which resolution are you going to use?

The resolution I'm gonna go for is 1680x1050 on a 22" monitor. I've been finding it difficult to find any Sandy Bridge right now and the only one I could find was a bit out of my price range so I'm gonna have to stick with what I got. I'm gonna get Mass Effect, and also Dragon Age Origins.
Also thanks for the help, I think you've answered a question I had before, I really wanna make sure I'm all ready before diving head long into getting an expensive PC. Thanks.

A bit more expensive.

I could link you a couple of mobos if you want aswell.

With that resolution you're gpu should be able to handle pretty much everything
