Yeah, I would love to see it. Then again a modder group already basically restored everything. Team Gizka I think their name is.
No. Team Gizka fell apart and all their work was lost. The website remains, but that's about it... actually, not even that anymore, I just checked out of curiosity.

However another modding team, impatient with Gizka, started up the same project themselves and released their mod a few months ago. It's called the Restored Content Mod, and it is amazing.

RESTORED CONTENT MOD

Anyone who enjoys the Kotor games and owns Kotor 2 on the PC should download this mod. Playing it before and after is an amazingly different experience, and with this mod installed not only does the story make much more sense but it comes to a fairly satisfying resolution. There are still bits missing, for example there was a planet cut due to time constraints called M4-78 which isn't present, but even that's in the works and even without the game is a much better experience with the Restored Content Mod installed.

Bit disappointed so many people in this topic still haven't heard about the mod. Go look it up. Right now. It's done, finished, and it's extremely good!

No need to re-release the game, not when it has fans like these with the patience to do what they have done.

Obsidian should re-release the finished version of KotOR2 in a special pack with Fallout: New Vegas.

I'd buy it.

I didn't enjoy the first one as it is but I suppose if others want it then what's stopping them?

KOTOR 2 seemed to be Obsidian's only chance for success. Alpha Protocol and NWN2 are just subpar. 3 subpar games, 2 were their own fault, but KOTOR 2 that was LucasArts fault.

There is a great mod that restores a good portion of the game and fixes silly plot holes (plot holes creates due to ripped out content). Read up on it here: http://www.deadlystream.com/forum/f122/

I'd like a re-release of the first two games, with a few tweaks here and there. Including properly finishing two. Like the God Of War collection but with added content.

Hell yes, it would be nice to see the game truly finished. Some modders have restored a good chunk of it, but not even they can possibly restore the missing cutscenes, true endings, and different story outcomes for each member in your party.

Agree with that. Btw, if anyone is wondering - it's everything from small broken dialogue trees to scripting tweaks and bugs. To including small extra scenes, or restoring entire sequences in cg/in-game, that were replaced with a low-res video for the xbox release (the Nihilus intro, for example, or the face-off with the Jedi Council, or small Kreia remarks along the way that were cut for some reason).

Anyone know if they ever managed to script, or piece through the ending, by the way? ..listened to most of it on dialogue on the disc - you can tell it was cut a long way into the production..

Hell yeah, re-release a new improved and finished version on 360 and PC.

But still...

I believe there's a modder group who got most of it done, so you should try searching for them. More on topic, I would rather a KOTOR 3 come out and explain what happened to Revan rather than a revision of the General's story.
KOTOR 3 has been on the very top of my wish list since I finished playing the second!
