Ok so I know dead space extraction just came out but lets brush over that because it was on the WII and anything on that is just made quickly and cheeply to make Nintendo a few extra bucks.

I really enjoyed dead space and the weird anime film thing was good to I felt. There really is room for a 2nd dead space if they just create a new story, maybe change around the guns a bit and give it a new strain of the alien/manmade/monster thing.

Am I alone in this idea or would dead space 2 be worth making?

Dead Space was very well made in almost all areas, it's just the story/plot was somewhat lacking; as such I cannot see what they could do to continue it. If they made a new game set somewhere else with a different concept (in the same universe) but with similar physics, weapons and so on it could be great, it could work.

Blanket statement much? Besides, that's not even true in this case, it got good reviews.

Anyway, I liked the original, but I don't think a sequel would be a good idea. I can't see how they could shoehorn it in, besides the prequel idea already used up with Extraction.

I liked the original, and I think EA will try to get a sequel made at some point, but I thought the original devs were working on Dante's Inferno?

I'd quite like to see a sequel, but as has been stated earlier, the story was the weak point in the original and it'd be a bit awkward to fit in a new chapter. The end result might be a story that's not even as good as the first one.

Though, really, the gameplay is what truly matters - and I think there's a lot that could be done with the Dead Space formula.

I liked the first one, but I don't really see what they could do without it being extremely forced. Another dark space station in which almost everyone has died and turned into zombie thingamabobs? I was already a bit bored at the end of the first one, I don't think I want to play through 10 hours more of the same.

Well I was thinking maybe with more twists. Or maybe a massive prequal like being on the planet when the origional being was first designed, starting off with a few running around and watching as the planet gets taken over quickly. Ending with the destruction of the first boss and the dropping of the Marker. It doesnt have to be on a spaceship and the monsters dont look the same. As long as they keep the combat system, level up system and a inventory system around that already beats a fair few RPGs. I liked the tension you get when you first play it through and the way you can start the game again with all the same stuff for serious pwnage, I also liked the way it told you nothing and you basicly found the story as you played through. Just would need a new look and another story line

Maybe they could actually try making it scary this time. I liked the game but it didn't feel tense or scary at all.

Wow. That's one of the most idiotic things I've read today.

On topic, yes I'd like to see a Dead Space 2.

They are making one.

And why not, Dead Space was pretty good. Generic and not very scary but it was still executed very well.

I'd love to see a second one. but only one that had been well thought out and planned properly so that its not just the same game in a different place. the first one set such a good atmosphere and was really emercive. i loved it. just wouldnt want them to bring out a second just cos people are askin for it and they wanna make a quick buck. If they were to really think hard about givin it a good setting and everything it would work really well i reckon.

I loved Dead Space, I thought it was fantastically made even if it was a bit of a carbon rubbing of Aliens in more than one way.

I liked Dead Space. I don't think the horror aspect was done very well since it wasn't very scary after you learned to shear off the limbs of the corpses after they went down, but it was a solid shooter and was very fun to play. I just want to see more stuff to do in zero gravity.

Dead Space Extraction was a very good rail shooter, as rail shooters go.
It was made by a third party developer, I'm not certain that it makes Nintendo any money at all.
Dismissing everything on the Wii as shit is ultimately a self-fulfilling prophecy as it seems that even well-made games tend to sell abysmally on the wii, so third party developers are beginning to shy away (or just release shovelware - and who can blame them at this point? You can put all the effort into a wii game that you like but it seems people only want to buy first-party nintendo stuff).
The wii has great potential, but the stigma that people like you attach to it will kill all potential it has.
