So I'm pretty sure we've got a lot of budding artists here at the escapist. So I thought I might as well make a thread that lets people show of their art that they have made. The art can be anything from a GIF to a detailed painting. Just remember to put every image you have in spoiler tags, if you don't a lot of people will get mad because of large pictures everywhere.

Heres on I made just today, I got a graphics tablet yesterday and this is the second thing I made on it. Program I used was Gimp, a pretty good free drawing app that has a bloody lot of features.

As for the first thing I made, here it is. It's massive so don't be surprised if you can't see all of it.

Please bear in mind that I am 13 and I have never done computer art before so none of those will be as good as the stuff you could get with a professional computer artist.

So share your own art below and if you can give feedback to other's art.

Well here's something I drew recently, my favourite animal:

I'm no artist but I'm happy with the result. Now thinking about drawing a new avatar for myself, if I ever get the time :p

I don't want to be a party pooper, but...
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.72805-The-artist-in-thee

This thread is the last living remnant of the time when I was lurking on the escapist. It's the last of the truly great threads: Currently at over 2,000 posts. It holds a lot of sentimentality for me, and I assume for many others. I would hate to see it die out.
So I'll just promote it here.

I suppose there's no harm in starting a new mini-version of it though; so long as the old one doesn't die as a consequence.
I do have a decent bit more artwork, but posting it all would take up a lot of space, so I'll just let it stay in the old thread.

Oh damn, I thought that there wasn't an art showing thread. Can a mod lock this thread then? I'll just post my art in that thread.

There's no need to lock it, so long as we keep the old thread from dying.
There's no harm in having a new little rump around the topic. I'd just hate to see the old one go.

I like this one.
Is it a close up view of a flower?

By the way, a bb-code tip:
If an image has the wrong size, you can always resize it when embedding.
(Substitute parentheses with brackets in my explanation.)

Instead of just writing (img)URL(/img), you can write (img height=300)URL(/img) for example.
I think the height value you put in is in pixels.
You can also move images or bits of text around by placing them within the tags (left)(/left),(right)(/right) or (center)(/center)

I also notice you use photobucket.
Now, I won't claim to have much knowledge on the issue of image uploaders, but practically every run-in I've had with photobucket has been negative.
I recommend imgur.com
It's free and you don't have to sign up or anything.

I'll try imgur. Thanks for the advice!

It is actually supposed to be a heavily stylized and minimal depiction of a wheat field. I tried making the background into a hilly one but that just didn't look right so I kept to the minimalistic look. What do you think of the other one?

It's decent, but the colours don't work as well as they do in the wheat field.
It's a bit small on my screen though, so I can't really tell what it is.

If I were to guess, I'd say it's a flagstone path leading up to a lone standing door?

Yep that's exactly what it is. Well more of a cobbled path but that's just pedantic. I might change the background but it's really hard since I made an error of making the drawing as the background instead of leaving it for gradients and the like.

Do you mean that you drew the drawing directly onto that grey-white background?
If not, I'm fairly certain you can just create new layers beneath it.

As an extreme measure there's always "Transparancy -> Colour to alpha -> white"

I'm more into image manipulation, as I suck at drawing. There's quite a few up there.

Thats something I did quite a few years ago, recently I've been drawing traditionally but I'm going through a bit of a slump recently.

I have some other stuff on my deviantart: http://kaorick.deviantart.com/

This other one is more recent.

Just finished a new drawing based on the game Limbo. Made it into a wallpaper for a friend, he seemed to like it. Not sure about the jaggy lines though.

So any thoughts on this piece? Anything I could improve?

Looking good, Toasty! As for improvements on the limbo drawing, I think it would look better if the light rays were drawn by hand as well.

Also, here's some of what I've made. I'm afraid I can't draw very well, so I stick to 3D and a little animation here and there :)

I can't model as well as you can, but I can animate, which is my preferred half. Also, these projects were done in 1 semester at school, so you could imagine the time restraints regarding rendering, etc.

Please put images in spoilers :)
I'll probably edit it tommorow when I feel less shite, until then that'll just have to do.

can someone point me towards a guide how to do things like embedding images and putting them into spoilers?

If there's no guide, can someone tell me what to do to get images from my computer into these comments? or, if it's better, images from my deviantart into here.

First you need to get the URL of the image. Which on anything but IE can be gotten by right clicking and clicking "Copy URL". Then to put an image into this thread you need to do.

[spoiler)[image)URL OF IMAGE[/IMG]
Just replace the ) with ] otherwise it won't work.
