Show us something beautiful!

So, a while back I made a thread asking people to show us something amazing. Like, you know, things that have a huge "WOW!" factor, and astounds people with its brilliance.

Following on from that (though, I did make that thread several months ago...), I've decided to add a little more optimism into The Escapist, as anyone who joins this lovely place seems to turn very quickly into a cinical bastards (Heck, I swear Suiseki IRL always used to make positive threads about good and happy things when she first joined, and now she's turned like the rest of us - pessimistic )

SO! Escapists - show us something that has taken your breath away with its absolute beauty. It can be art, music, anything really... So long as it is beautiful and artistic, it is welcome on this thread

My contribution is this lovely song by Ghibili's sound track composer Joe Hisaishi - this particular song isn't from any of the films, but its my favourite nonetheless.

Oh, I think Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto will do nicely here. It's a slow piece, and it's made all the more amazing by how simple it is, with large parts of it just being descending notes, a long sequence of trills or sequences of four notes played over and over. Trust me, it's my favorite ever piece, the kind of piece I love so much I want it played at my wedding.


*I know it's old, but it's still a beautiful rendition of it.

No problem, it is quite a contrast to love the cello when it has such a different sound to what you normally listen to, but I think it's awesome that you do!

These are the Uilleann Pipes, one of the most beautiful instruments in the world. There is so much pain and at the same time so much sweetness in them.
