Ok, so I just got back from seeing Shutter Island. It was a fantastic film, so wonderfully bizarre and weird. However, what good would this be as a topic without a problem.
Before seeing the film, my friend said he could guess the ending from the trailer. I told him not to say anything, because I didn't read to much into it and wanted to be pleasantly surprised. But then he goes and spews it anyway, severely pissing me off, even more so when I found out he was right.
This severely hampered my enjoyment of the film, sort of like watching a murder mystery movie when you already know who the killer is. And what's worse is, it's apparently my fault for not picking up on it from just the trailer(!), so I, the helpless guy who had his film ruined for him, am the bad guy, whereas the douche that ruined it for me isn't.
I put it to you Escapists, what did you think of the film? Did any of you guess the ending? Did any of your friends spoil it for you, thus hampering your enjoyment? Or did you go into it completely oblivious, and come out pleasantly surprised?
