Who else does it? How do you feel about it? Do you mind? Or do you wanna tell people to leave you alone and go the hell away lest you shove a controller up their ass?

I confess that I do it. Sometimes a lot, sometimes a little. Depends on the person. The reason? You see, I'm weird. As much as I love games, I'm a big cowardly, sore loser. Most of the awesome ones out there, I'm too freaked to play. So instead, I let others play them and watch them play. It's basically how I've been ever since Sonic 2 when at around 7 years old, I was on Chemical Plant Zone and Sonic was drowning. I cried and panicked and my brother had to take over. And that's been that ever since.

So... side seat gaming? Opinions? (woo, first thread ever made here for me... let's see how it goes)

I tried to play Crysis with someone sitting behind me yesterday. That game is very singleplayer.

"No! Sit on that cliff and tranquilise them all before you go through"

"Take out that gunner; the rest will be easy!"

"Cloak!"

"Sprint!"

"Take him out now. One shot will do it"

I DON'T WANT TO!

It's like side seat driving...no one likes it. I hate it when someone does it to me.

And unless someone tells me specifically 'come and help me while I play' I don't do it. Sure, I make comments or talk about it but only on the content, not on how that someone plays. Most of the time it might even count as nagging since you have no way to predict what the player wants to do and you can be distracting.

I think it is backseat but mostly for cars. The gamers I've spoken to call it side seat. Mostly because people are sitting next to each other and stuff.

For me, my biggest part is that I'm focused not so much on what they should do to beat the game but to keep them from dying/losing/getting a game over. So I will be the first person to suggest someone heal themselves.

One time, someone played Resident Evil 4 and I remember asking them why did they move from this monster. His answer was of course to save Leon. But I pointed out that he'd left Ashley behind. Sure enough, she died 'cause she cowered.

I've had my friends tell me to shut it while I watch them. And I also kinda zone out, so maybe?
