So the $68 Season Pass (yay Australia) is two simple to replicate time sinks, and a sidequest with Valentine? That's awesome value for money /sarcasm.
the far harbor dlc with valentine is apparently the largest landmass bethesda have ever released as an expansion/dlc so sounds like lots more exploration.

these first three dlc arent the end of it, as they mentioned they will be releasing more, hence the price increase. that said im glad i got the season pass when it was still cheaper

I also can't see having additional frameworks ready for use being a bad thing.
But people hated Hearthfire, which was if i read right like 60% to 80% framework, because it took jobs from modders or something.

Now to contribute to the thread. Beth said, they wanted to update like they did with Skyrim and there they did bring new things to the game. Mounted combat and "to legendary" a skill. Hey did you people hear about the new survival difficulty with basic needs? And it will be FREE! Sorry, but not every business benefiting move (which it might not even be) is meant as such. Sure, be skeptical when money's involved. But to be objective, look both ways. For things against your doubt and confirming your doubt.

rather than have to rework mods to fit with the new content and/or mechanic changes the DLC packages bring.
I genuinely can't remember the last time Bethesda actually made any "mechanical changes" within their DLC. Like, seriously, the only thing that would be affected (to my knowledge) would be the fact that you wouldn't be able to use a mod which uses resources from the DLC.

Secondly, anyone who tried to use any of these mods would get the "Ha, buy DLC for the required resources first", so, instead of just preventing the use of mods, this nicely coincides with actively hiding these mods behind a pay-wall unless the modders are generous enough to make a vanilla version.

Until the final release is available, I'll reserve negative outlooks and heavy criticism on decisions based on the merit of the whole story.
Given Bethesda's storied downward spiral, I don't hold any high hopes.

The "sidequest with Valentine" is supposed to be a larger chunk of content than Dragonborn was. We'll see, obviously. Not sure what that ran you guys, though.
Hard to say, I bought Skyrim Legendary Edition, on sale. Never really finished Dragonborn either. I should probably get around to that at some point.
Dragonborn and Dawnguard were both pretty entertaining. Their $20 price point was a bit steep, but if you've got them and find Skyrim enjoyable, then they're absolutely worth playing through. Dawnguard actually has two separate plotlines. One where you side with the vampires, and one where you're hunting them. Dragonborn is a return to Bloodmoon's Solstheim, so it's a bit of a love letter to Morrowind.

Finished Dawnguard, incredibly disappointed I couldn't fight the King of Vampires as a Werewolf, but had to use that bow instead. Unepic.

Yeah, Werewolves kinda get screwed a couple places in Skyrim. Another example are the dragon fights. Which is unfortunate.

Don't be surprised when they send you a beta key that doesn't work. Also don't be surprised that when you're told to message the person who gives you the key if there are problems, that they will actually just ignore you.
