Sigs

So I have to ask.. How come this great forum doesnt have signitures?

I used to loove making awesome GFX sigs and I'd love to get back into it..

Sigs are good mods *wink*

What doesnt everyone else think?

I remember reading in some thread that the reason mods don't like sigs because people can add links, or something like that. Not sure.

Oh yeah, I remember making that up 'cos I was a bit annoyed at that guy. That is to say, it was the only reason I could think they wouldn't want sigs, given a lot of the time they just say 'HAY! CHECK OUT MI BLOG!' Other times they're just flashing, bouncing things which don't do much for the aesthetics.

I like it this way. Cleaner. Clinical, almost...

I'm anti-sigs. I've never seen one I liked. They either had some overused quote, irritating emoticons, or links to blogs or bands.

I think it's because more often than not the sig is 10x bigger than the post on most forums. And it's usually some picture from some random anime that only 3 people will understand where its from. QED: thank you the Escapist for avoiding people giving me epileptic seizures.

Sigs make forums look like pages of banner ads. I like the clean look of words boxes and a neat little picture of a funny little (insert noun here)

If you're gonna be making your own sigs, at least check out the guidelines where they say not to do that. But hey, more power to you!

As for this forum not having sigs:

I'm glad they don't have it, in a way. Because the forum I used to be on had sigs, but they didn't have the image BBcode and what not, so the only sigs could be short text blurbs. With the ability to have image sigs, I'm glad we don't have access to them at all.

Give me a nice clean forum where I can actually read the posts without sifting through pages of flashing, moving, colorful pictures.

Extra work for the Mods? Nah, not for the minimum benefit that sigs would provide. Especially image ones.
