Silent Hills canceled?!

Basically it looks like Silent Hills, both the site and the game, have been orphaned. Kojima left Konami, and it seems in return they're pulling the plug on all his pet projects.

Kinda' sad really. I was looking forward to this one.

Is there any way Kojima could complete the project on his own? I kinda' doubt he had the cash to bankroll an entire AAA game.

Easiest question to ask is, does he even have the rights to Silent hill? If not then everything else is moot. If so, there are already examples of games being crowd funded.

I certainly hope not. As good as the Joke Ending of Silent Hill Downpour was, I definitely don't want it to be the end of the series (especially when it wasn't planned as being the end of the series). I'm unsure on whether Kojima could back the game on his own, especially since I don't think he owns the title.

If we enter panic stations, we can just rewatch this fifty times to get "used" to the idea of Silent Hill being mishandled for the eighty billionth time.

There's something about the site 'international business times' that does not seem very real to me. It may be april fools cynicism telling me this, but there's just something I can't place my finger on. Like the first time I saw a page by 'the onion'

If real, I have full faith in kojima using the ideas behind silent hill to create a spiritual successor in the same line.
