The silliest reason ever for me not playing a game was when there was a clown dancing and juggling on it.

Achievements/trophies. I know it's not exactly 'silly' but my friend did create a completely seperate profile to play Shellshock 2 because he didn't want people or himself to see he had played it.

If cockroaches in any way shape or form are an enemy; If there was an overly obvious attempt at making the male character attractive, manly, or heroic; If they the protagonist has an already decided love interest; If there is they give you different combat options but you already know there is only one that is efficient to play with (I'm looking at YOU Fallout 3).

Other than the cockroaches I'm not sure you know what you are talking about, NOBODY in Fallout 3 looks good, you don't have to play a male, there are no love interests, and I was able to make a charecter that was awesome with just about every type of combat but explosives.

I'm not sure YOU know what you're talking about. Only the last combat criticism was directed at Fallout 3. While you are able to play with all combat options semi-effectively you pretty much get the feeling that they meant to put small guns and energy weapons as the prime power weapons in the game.

My friend refuses to buy any Lionhead games because "Peter Molyneux is a dick."

That is his entire reasoning on the matter.

I don't buy games with a short single-player portion (short is less than 8 hours or so).
I usually don't usually play games with the stereotypial JRPG [http://www.ripten.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/cloud_buster_sword1.jpg] character models. It's just off-putting. But I saw Final Fantasy XIII for cheap and figured I should give one of the games a try for once.

I don't want to play Bayonetta because I don't like the music.
Funny, I downloaded the demo and played for about 20 seconds and quit only because of the music.

I played the demo for Amnesia Dark Descent and that god-awful wibbly-wobbly camera filter showed up. Unless I can acquire it for less than $5, I'm not going to bother.
