Silly TV mag interview

I work at a game developer company, and lately we got a small interview on paper from a tv magazine. I filled it in, and after a view from my boss it was sent back.
The TV magazine summarized and used it in their latest edition...but with some faults. The topic was mainly 'what can tv's learn from games'. The last question was what tv's could do to become as appealing as games. I did not really know, so I made a sarcastic comment ending in the lines of; Ah, try to address young people more with less culture and more sex and violence! ((the smily was included there).
They copied it literally, without smiley. It made me and my boss laugh though

hahaha and everybody who is on a crusade against games has a new argument; "look at that, how narrow they are! I can't believe they actually seriously say that!"

I used to do wedding photos professionally with my dad, and we got in the local paper once. The answers they printed were nowhere near what actually came out of our mouths. So I can imagine how bad it gets when the audience gets larger.

Perhaps the person who reviewed the results thought the smiley face was an indication of how enthusiastic you are towards sex, and violence?
