SIm City VS Cities XL

Hiya all!

I love city building games, but I have been reluctant to purchase Sim City (I should think the reasons are obvious). And I was wondering how the game stacks up to Cities XL, which I am still currently playing.

Do you have to manage labour in Sim City?

Like building homes for unskilled workers, skilled workers and so on?
