Simple question, just curious.

Why do people refer to Medal of Honor: Warfighter as 'doorfighter'?

And is it worth getting for ?20? Or should I get Ghost Recon: Future Soldier instead?

The name is a reference to this review [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/10011-Medal-Of-Honor-Warfighter-Review] and the Miracle of Sound song attached to it.

It is most certainly not worth getting for that price. It is a bad, bad game. I'm not sure about Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, but it seems to have been better received judging from the metacritic score.

^That. Plus it apparently uses that door breach mechanic a lot.

If you really want a good tactical shooter, I recommend SWAT 4.

Done to death, my friend, along with all the other SWAT games. Yes, even the first, FMV-driven one and the RTS one. ;)

There's also the Rainbow Six series, but I never got into that so I can't really say how good it is. The only other game that comes to mind is Star Wars: Republic Commando - not that as tactical but still fun (and short, unfortunately). I have a feeling you already played all of these too.

Doorfighter just has you running in linear corridors and doing that door breach procedure once in a while, according to all the reviews of it that I watched/read.

I think that once the shooter genre migrated to consoles it really went downhill - The limited controls made them simpler, and the limited hardware replaced large non-linear levels with linear corridors.

The original Ghost Recon was amazing, if you haven't played it before pick that up from GOG instead of any of the later games.

Honestly there haven't been all that many good recent tactical shooters, which makes me sad as it was a fantastic genre.

Also done on the Ghost Recon and R6 series as well, both from the very first game. In fact, it's the drop in quality and tactical options in the latest titles that made me reluctant to pick up Future Soldier to begin with...

Also, there are no servers left for Swat 4.

Thanks for reminding, i shall now go cry in a corner.

To the OP; get Future Soldier. Based on my experience with Ghost Recon games (haven't played FS) I will deffinitly be much better than doorfighter.

Its called that due to the fact that the hardest thing you fight are doors and you have to kick one in for EVERY. SINGLE. SHOOTOUT.
