See, I can copy and paste from Wikipedia too, the only difference is, I have a soul.
Anyway, putting my vendetta against Skynet aside, does anyone think that
The Sims 3 would have still been at the top if EA had used DRM with the game, instead of using incentives to get people to purchase as oppose to pirate the game?
Also considering that
The Sims 3 was the second most pirated game, it would be interesting to find out how many people initially pirated that game then decided to buy it, once they realised that they wanted access to some of the features only available to registered users, like the Sims store and content sharing.
Regardless of whether EA used DRM or not, would The Sims 3 still have been the no.1 best selling game and no.2 most pirated game anyway?
Similarly, with
Modern Warfare 2 being 5th on the sales list, but top of the pirate list [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/97157-Modern-Warfare-2-Was-2009s-Most-Pirated-Game], would those positions have been any different if Activision hadn't hiked up the price up of the PC version?
